  1. Volquez's final line for the day: 5 1/3, 5 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 8 K Would have liked to seen him go 6, but I'm going to complain about it. Really good first outing.
  2. Dusty loves him some double switches.
  3. Braun would be the last of the three I'd trade. i'd imagine Laporta would be the first to be traded, he'll be cheap and have the most trade value, and Braun and Fielder should be entrenched as franchise faces by then (if they aren't already) Unless the Brewers don't think they can afford both Braun and Fielder.
  4. Because you've only played 5 games? It's a joke/tradition from last year. Whoops. My bad.
  5. [expletive]. Just trade Pie while he still has value.
  6. Braun would be the last of the three I'd trade.
  7. Braun is a great athlete, he will be fine in LF. When Prince starts to lose it (granted, that won't be for awhile) he is going to lose it fast.
  8. lol You're right, reds44, the Reds would be getting off light in that add. Add Edison Volquez, and Jay Bruce, and then we would have a deal. haha Here's a fun fact, Jim Bowden offered Alfonso Soriano to the Reds for Adam Dunn 8 times when he was the Nationals GM. Maybe if he threw a reliever in the Reds would have agreed to it the 7th time.
  9. And Paul Bako with the walkoff single! Revenge of former Cubs!
  10. Patterson goes yard to tie the Reds 3-3 with the Phillies in the 8th.
  11. I'll agree with you if we are talking about the 2008 Cubs. We are talking about Felix Pie, who has had more than 4 games. Trying to draw much out of a young, raw players initial season with at bats scattered all over the place generally doesn't give a great idea. The problem is the Cubs are trying to develop Pie and the major league level and compete at the same time. There is no doubt Pie has all the talent, but it's not a sure thing he will ever put it together. There is no way you should write him off after 200 AB's either. He just is what he has been for his entire career so far, a project. When the rest of the Cubs start hitting and the Cubs start winning games, it will take a lot of the spotlight off of Pie. As long as he plays good defense in CF, I think the Cubs can stick with him.
  12. Thankfully the Rangers traded away Sammy Sosa while they could before he discovered steroids.
  13. I don't think the Cubs want Felix Pie turning into Brandon Phillips, because that means he won't bust out until he is on his 2nd team.
  14. So true.
  15. Thom is alright, Brantley is terrible. I thought Thom was going to throw Brantley's ass out of the booth.
  16. Jeff Brantley is a piece of (crap). Edwin Encarnacion 2007 with RISP: .360 BA Career: .309 BA He's been the Reds most clutch player since he was called up. The best part is when that stupid redneck is going on and they show his RISP stats from last year. Thom pretty much owned him. I've never seen a player get as much (crap) in Cincinnati for doing so little wrong than Edwin does. It's amazing. Thank you Edwin for making "the Cowboy" look like the moron he is. Shut up, Jeff.
  17. Cueto: 7 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 10 K 92 pitches Cordero pitched a perfect 9th and the Reds won 3-2.
  18. Patterson just went yard.
  19. He is a stud as long as he is healthy, no doubt.
