    If taguchi isn't as bad because he played for the phillies before coming to the cubs, why is he so mad at edmonds... who was with the padres before being released and signing with the cubs?

    "rumor" has it (as in Tony LaRussa said) that with the Cardinals having a surplus of outfielders, and a shortage of certain 2B, that he might try one of the outfielders at 2nd this year. My guess is that Skip Schumacher will get tested there. He played 2nd in college, I believe.

    I wish they'd do alternating colors for the rows... makes it easier to read... other than that, it's a major improvement!

    What if we fake his death? We'll have to lose him on the radio for a year or so, but then once he gets voted in, he shows up to cooperstown and is all like, "BOOYA, MOTHER Beyotches!"

    I remember a time when the cubs could ONLY hit RH pitching... and teams would throw a soft tossing lefty and the cubs would crap themselves.

    Step 1: Trade Derrek Lee for good prospects Step 2: Spin prospects to Pittsburgh for Nate McClouth Step 3: Sign Mark Texiera Step 4: Trade Theriot for whatever prospects you can get Step 5: Sign Furcal OR Step 6: Spin prospects for brob and have him learn SS... (and in my imagination, he ends up being very good at SS... keep in mind, imagination != reality). Step 7: ? Step 8: PROFIT!!!!

    i'd pay money to see someone march the bases ala ric flair. and doing the "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO." Doing the patented chest slap to the opposing first basemen would be an added bonus.

    That interviewer was a total douche. Come on, the guy JUST found out he was going to be stripped of an Olympic medal... what do you expect? I'd protest it if I didn't feel like I stepped on the line (he obviously did, but it's hard to know when you're running.)

    He didn't quite lose 20...but Blyleven lost 17 with a 2.52 era one year and a 2.66 era the following year. Which is why the chump isn't in the Hall of Fame... It's 300 wins or no dice buddy! Everyone knows Wins determine greatness, it's kind of like Jeter's intangibles... wins just show that you are great at being a team player and you have the knack for motivating those around you to play harder and better!

    I'm all for the concept of co-starters piggybacking in starts. But I'm not even sure Guzman can go 5 innings every 5 games. How about three every three? I just don't see him throwing 162 innings a season. ok then, how about 2 every 2?

    st. louis hates chicago. The city as a whole has always hated chicago and tried to "one up" it any chance it gets (see Worlds Fair 1904.)
