  1. Excellent point. Contrast that with with Jim Riggleman who was fired, and for alot less than vs. Baker. (ducks)
  2. No they don't. Coordinators rarely get interviewed before their team is eliminated from the playoffs. It happens all the time. Riveria interviewed for the Rams before the Bears home playoff game. They are usually not denied permission.
  3. The entire organization failed. McPail is gone and rightfully so. Hendry should be gone, yes it is not really fair he is still around. Baker is gone and rightfully so. Despite being 2 starters short at the hands of Hendry, doesn't excuse the fact that this team was probably the worst fundemental team in baseball this year. It also doesn't excuse the fact that Baker's lineups were terrible day in and day out. Don't make excuses for Baker. Excuses are like A-Holes, everyone's got one....and they all stink. Dusty being no exception.
  4. As per mlb.com, Game 7 of the WS is scheduled for Sunday October 29. And I don't think it's unfair to not have your coaches interview when the season is still going on. I hate it when college coaches leave their current team to join a new team after the regular season is over but before the bowl game like Dan Hawkins did with Boise St./Colorado this year. Wait til the season is over. They never leave before the playoffs are over in professional sports. It happens in college because they need to jump into recruiting ASAP.
  5. If you hold him back, till the season is over you could jeopardize his chances. If Oakland makes it to the WS what is the latest it could end.(say it is a 7 game series?) Past Oct 31? Pretty much every NFL coach will let one of his coordinators interview during the playoffs and a coordinator has more value/input to a game plan vs. a 3rd base coach.
  6. If Oakland won't give permission that is pretty bush league of them.
  7. Didn't he pick Marc Columbo too? i think he was talking defensive talent. Yes. Defensive talent. With regards to Columbo he would probably be our current RT had he not blown apart his knee cap.
  8. Sounds like the table could then be set for Washington, Mills, or oh please....Larry Dierker. Can the Cubs interview Washington without tampering? If they can the only potential candidate off limits now is Boche who's 07 avaiablility is uncertain. Regardless of who we want as the next manager, the nonchelant attitude of Hendry is un-acceptable.
  9. Untarp the upper deck, please. Free Mt. Davis! They should definitely open it up. I doubt they would fill it.
  10. I think Jim will get caught with his pants down. Girardi will sign with Washington. Brenly with San Fran. Boche will not be available. Jimy Williams anyone?
  11. I really think he is. Not saying he deserve's it. But salaries are outa control and the FA class sucks. Friendly wager Luke? 8) What do you have in mind? Promised the fiance I'd ease up on the gambling. maybe a sig quote? :) making me put "I love Jim Hendry" would be pretty brutal.
  12. going over stats, Anderson does have 5.5 sacks now right?(including today) Angelo is a genious when it comes to defensive talent. His only goof really being Roosevelt Williams(ugg, everyone gets a mulligan right?)
  13. I really think he is. Not saying he deserve's it. But salaries are outa control and the FA class sucks. Friendly wager Luke? 8)
  14. so am i to understand that you want the cubs take on yet another rehab project in hopes that he might be able to contribute? no thank you, the man has a shreaded labrum and his shoulder socket is cracked...if he comes back it wont be next year oh, no. The Cubs need to stay clear of this guy. I simply suggested Prior could take some man lessons from Radke.
  15. Hopefully a potential sales transaction will come through and end his tenure, and the ticket scalper's as well.
  16. lukewarm on Dunn. We gotta find a way to pry Jason Bay outa Pitt. :P :P
  17. Mark Anderson is a early candidate for DROY. As a backup.
  18. I'm tired of these "skirt rules" the NFL is trying to enforce. The integrity of the game is at stake. Let the men play.
  19. Anything less than Miami is a dissapointment right now! 8)
  20. how do you know what the yankees want? I watched the playoffs
  21. Starters are a more vaulable commodity. Fact is very few teams have the perfect balance of IP b/t both starters and relievers. If I am gonna burn out one, I'll chose the pen(outside of the closer role if he is a stud)
  22. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20061006&content_id=1703072&vkey=ps2006news&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb If anything, maybe Mr. Radke and Mr. Prior can get together and have a chat this offseason.
  23. Speaking of which, has AJ Burnett's arm fallen off yet? lol...I completly forgot about Burnett. sheesh they are re-selling old Fords down there.
