  1. I like the blue jerseys... Scratch that, I love the blue jerseys. Then again blue has been my favorite color since birth, and that shade of blue, Cubbie blue, is the shade I enjoy the most. Well, if it were to change, at least my Aramis blue jersey will be a collectors item
  2. Federererer by far. Tiger wins a lot, but he doesn't win all the time. Rodge is what... 36-1 his last 37 matches? Maybe 37-1 now? That's like a 98% Winning Percentage. I don't care what sport you play, that's not human. But Tiger will easily go down as the best all-time. Federer, assuming he keeps this up, will also do the same it seems. Plus I hate Pete Sampras and hope he gets de-throned as the best Tennis player of the last 2 decades.
  3. GARRRR, just like a steering wheel on me crotch, them jersey's be driving me nuts! [/cheesypiratejoke]
  4. We have a winner. No we don't. :? No need to get in everyone's face about it, take 'er easy
  5. I understand the OBP factor, and agree that their lineup will be stacked with Helton in it. I just don't understand the reverse nature of the Helton criticism now that he's rumored to possibly become apart of the Red Sox. It's sickening just how much the media sucks Boston's no-no parts So does this mean Youklis will be going ot the Rockies? If they get Helton where do thet put him? Sorry if this has been addressed, I didn't bother reading the first few pages, I'm tired.
  6. I hate how for the past 2-3 years writers and everyone alike have been dogging Helton and his declining ability and how he's reached his peak and he'll never be a dominant hitter again, but as soon as there's word he might go to the Red Sox, he all of a sudden makes them the best team ever and he's one of the premier players in baseball again. Why all the capriciousness?
  7. Awesome vid, got me pumped
  8. They just recently made a Ramirez and I belive it was in the home pinstripes. This three pack they wanted to do three players who had not been made or atleast hadn't been made in the pinstripes. Lee's pose was done before but in the away grey's, the only Cubs Maddux was a retro to when he played with the team in his first go round and Z has never been done before. These figuires are planned very far in advance so it is hard to altar lineups. Dually noted, 'preciate it
  9. Only in the sense that he's stating the obvious flaws/needs for the Cubs to be successful that others have been saying since just before the season ended. Why even waste your time rehashing the same old crap everyone already knows and has said months ago? Not only that, but say things that aren't even true because you're too lazy to do a little research or make a few phone calls. This guy is a hack-ass reporter
  10. LOL. That sounds like something I would say to my friends regarding anything.
  11. I don't have anything new to add, I just want to say kudos on the Harrison Ford film reference
  12. Sage-like wisdom he has, that Rob Neyer.
  13. Dayn Perry is a moron. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/6407078 I'm not trying to say that the Cubs will surely win, but this guy is ignorant... particularly: I think I'll take Lou Piniella's word over Dayn Perry's any day. Apparently he doesn't like to research quotes from the source and instead assumes Murphy's Law is in effect. Not only that, but he's quoting everything everyone already knows and is adding nothing new to the table... No kidding? Welcome back to 2006, Dayn Perry. This one really upset me, but in all honesty, people have arguments about this daily... This one pisses me off because I'm a "Soriano For Lead-Off" advocate. Soriano's worst days as a hitter came in Texas where he batted 3rd and 5th in the middle of a lineup that included Blalock, Young, and Teixieria in one of the most favorable hitter's parks in all of baseball. Soriano's best days as a hitter came in the lead-off spot for the Yankees and the Nats. His best OBP comes out of the lead-off spot, as well as his best AVG, SLG, and thus his best OPS. Dayn Perry is an imbecil. I'd post this in the rants section but that seems mostly reserved for non-Cub issues
  14. Better question: Why is Maddux being made into a Cubbie figuring when he's a Padre? Don't get me wrong, I love Mad Dog as much as the next guy... but couldn't he have put someone on the team who is significantly relevant, like Aramis Ramirez?
  15. It's on hosted on Yahoo. That's all I know. I can't remember how many teams we had last year. I think we had around 18 Yowzers, bet that made for some creative team structuring. I play in leagues of 8 and when things go wrong struggle to find adequate replacements, can't imagine what it'd be like with 18 teams
  16. What are the rules and restrictions? How many teams allowed, etc? Where is it hosted? Just curious
  17. i voted for Novoa, simply because I do not like Novoa at all. Wish he never donned a Cub uniform... but I think Izturis will be the whipping boy overall
  18. Cedeno is locking the cashbox in the playoffs of that league, according to the stats CaliforniaRaisin is posting
  19. Curses! Eh, still doesn't hurt to apply. Then again I have a feeling if I want to break into the baseball biz I'll have to start in the minors... just like players! YAY!
  20. Erstad got a lot of hits one year and used to be a great fielder. That's all I've got. He's got a real spiffy and unique name
  21. Because Jesus loves each and every one of them!
  22. I always crave fried okra when I see him pitch... don't know why though
  23. I refuse to believe this. I must believe that the Cardinals, do in fact, actually hate one another. It makes me smile inside. They all hate each other with the exception of David Eckstein. After each game Eckstein refs impromptu UFC matches in the clubhouse, and afterwards the team sings "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" for his gritty and tenacious ref skills
  24. Ummmmm... wasn't Soriano under arbitration last offseason? Is Selig really that much of an imbecil? Or am I the imbecil for missing out on the memo?
