  1. "I remember telling Corey to take that firstp itch up and away off left handers" or something like that. Sure, Dusty, take credit for something he obviously learned last year under someone else's tutiledge. Last time I checked you couldn't do crap for him
  2. Yeah, Kolb is totally the man behind Torres. If by behind you mean not even making the ML team. I was hoping this website had some credibility. When Gagne went down they switched it to Otsuka within the hour his injury was annuonced. Perhaps the Kolb release went under their radar. Regardless, they're still correct in saying Torres is the closer, are they not? I like this site, thanks for posting it. I recommended it to some of my friends in leagues who haven't played before. It's a useful website.
  3. Stretch fit is the way to go for me. I've boguht 2 59/50 hats in the past over the span of a year because they shrunk after wearing them, and I bought them a little bigger than my head actually is. The stretch fits rule.
  4. They couldn't find any takers on Cantu? Hell I'd take a chance on Cantu.
  5. I actually hadn't heard of Rocky Cherry until I joined this board last year. Is he getting primed to be our future closer sometime in the next couple years? His ST stats are remarkable
  6. Just got done with a draft in my fraternity league. One of the guys who wasn't there for the draft just dropped: Morgan Ensberg in exchange for Rich Aurillia Delmon Young in exchange for Mike Gonzalez Nick Markakis in exchange for Brad Hawpe (wash) Rich Harden in exchange for Brad Penny. It's like free pickens. I had to drop Tulowitzki just so I could pick up Harden... My team, after early roster adjustments, now consists of (10 team, H2H, no K's to count against people like Dunn): C Victor Martinez 1B Prince fielder 2B ian Kinsler SS Michael Young 3B Aramis Ramirez OF Vladimir Guerrero OF Magglio Ordonez OF Pat Burrell UTIL Mark Teahen BN Adam Laroche BN Russell Martin BN Ryan Freel BN Alex Gordon BN Delmon Young SP Johan Santana SP Felix Hernandez CL Mariano Rivera CL Brad Lidge P Chris Young P Kelvim Escobar P Rich Harden BN Ian Snell I'm also trying to trade Magglio Ordonez and Kelvim Escobar for Huston Street. The guy with Street also has BJ Ryan, Chad Cordero, Bob Wickman, and Octavio Dotel... he also picked up Mark Prior so he's SOL, and the only SP he has are Dontrelle Willis and Chris Capuano... he wasn't there for the draft obviously. Hopefully I can get Street, and my team will be stacked I think.

  8. Passan thinks Hafner is going to get MVP? If David Ortiz can't get MVP after putting up huge numbers and playing on a huge market team, how can Hafner? Oh, and Tim Brown picks Carpenter for Cy Young, Z got "Cy-Young-In-Waiting"
  9. I figure he'd be more accepting that the Cubs would want him to get back to 100% before taking a big risk that could hurt both him and the Cubs. If he's gonna be a little pre-teen about it, then keep him down there until we need him instead of when he's ready
  10. I'm planning on drafting him in my last draft. The two other leagues I'm in are filled with NSBB'ers, so it's tough to play the Cubs sleepers in a Cubs fan league :) You should add an option that says "I wish"
  11. Humorous, slightly. Kinda pissed he has to miss time. Even though he probably wouldn't play a whole lot the first week anyway. At least it's not because of that phone card scam a few players got suckered into a while back. That was just hilarious
  12. ABOMINATION TO THE GAME! DAG NABBIT! j/k. Good for her, she better help the Cubs out :)
  13. We have the best damn fans in MLB. Proof? We still go to games! I think the Cubs have the Pirates beat on the "fans who go out to the game when they suck" front, no offense.
  14. Only one person is throwing more than one reliever per week, and Putz is just as good a bet as half the guys they're throwing to pick up saves. Besides, there just wasn't any value using a pick on BJ Ryan or somebody when guys like Ben Sheets were on the board. I would've taken BJ Ryan, personally. Sheets is still an injury risk. He's Brewers version of the Prior/Wood soap as far as I'm concerned. But just like Prior and Wood, if he stays healthy he can help your team big time.
  15. I have a baseball crush on Ian Snell. I wish he was on the Cubs so-so-very bad. That's why I never figured why people didn't consider a Jones+Moore trade for Snell when we were looking to dump Jones and the Bucs were looking for RF & 1B power help.
  16. *cough*Therayswanttoplaybjuptonandjorgecantumayeventuallybeexpendable*cough* Maybe....
  17. *sigh* I wish I never took up video games as a kid and instead kept playing baseball
  18. There was a post on here somewhere that linked to the article about Juan comparing himself to Jesus and someone added that link to FJM to the thread. But its location escapes me. FJM rules
  19. Nice article. Good sleepers too. I think Tulowitzski will be a big one this year. In my other league where I was [expletive] and forgot about the draft (and had the #1 pick) I had Furcal and Crosby as my Shortstops, and then Furcal got injured. Crosby sucks, but luckily no one had even drafted Tulowitzski. I'm rather high on his expectations as well
  20. depends on the area of the speed limit. most times though i go between 5-10 as well. At least 5mph over. Anyone who goes below the speed limit and I just want to crush their skull with a sledgehammer.
  21. A lot of my fellow south Alabama fans are concerned that our coach and Kentucky famed alum, John Pelphrey, will leave this year. He's being interviewed for the USF job, but he has said he will take the UK job at the drop of a dime. To add along with that, hordes of UK fans want John Pelphrey as their head coach. Perhaps not immediately now, but at leasti n about 3-4 years. Maybe they'll take a risk and jump right into it. If that's the case, it'll suck to see him leave South Alabama, he's worshipped around here.
  22. No matter how bad he may be on some occassions (a lot last year), hearing about his antics never fails to amuse me.
