  1. Can't believe I'm saying this, but Neifi should have a 3-0 count.
  2. Two bad approaches and yet two hits. I'll take it.
  3. Hopefully Murton can be patient in this AB.
  4. 8 straight pitches outside of the zone to start the 6th.
  5. Aramis pretty much has the lone hard hit ball tonight. They're just not touching Lowe at all. And since they're hacking like crazy, he's having a pretty easy time out there.
  6. Dusty sure likes the hit and run tonight.
  7. Left it up. Z has one more inning at best.
  8. And it's certainly not a case of overthrowing, because his velocity is pretty low this game. I don't think he's topped 91 more than a few times.
  9. And the hit and run costs the Cubs an out. Could've been two, though.
  10. Jones with a double after swinging at a 2-0 pitch about two feet up and out of the zone.
  11. Yeesh. Nice catch, though.
  12. Neifi is starting because "Lowe is a sinker baller." Does that mean we get to see Neifi trademark downward hack tonight so he can beat the ball into the ground before Lowe makes him do it?
  13. Thanks. It's possible, I suppose. I might try later. The line through Bernard sure is easier, though. By the way, here are Marmol's career stats at the plate from way back when: Avg Obp Slg Ops .314 .368 .393 .761 2000 w/ the Dominican team .295 .345 .380 .725 2002 w/ Mesa .258 .271 .339 .610 2001 w/ Mesa
  14. That would be Marmol's second career HR, although the first came before he moved to the pitcher's mound. And I hope he doesn't still look like a 9 year old at the plate: http://www.minorleaguewatch.com/AZFall/images/marmol3.jpg (from 2001)
  15. Yeah, Alf should've told him to bat Bellhorn in the leadoff spot.
  16. Gameday has improved. Any strike called is going to be in the zone on Gameday, but they do show swings and misses as being outside of the zone when they actually are. Maybe not as far outside as they were in real life, but it's not bad. And they do a good job of placing hits and outs.
  17. If you're saying he's lucky, I wish I were as lucky as he's been over the past 20 years. :D Well, he's given up a few near-bombs in his other starts, as well, but his stuff is just so dominating right now and his control is sharp where it's not a huge deal if he gives up a HR or two. He's really limiting baserunners. I won't mind solo shots from Maddux.
  18. And zero walks. When some of those long fly balls sail out of Wrigley with the wind blowing out, it would be nice if they're solo shots.
  19. Yeah, not a well-timed ad considering the weather.
  20. Wow. Looks like 2 hours right on the dot.
  21. Happy birthday, Bruce. Looks like the Cubs will give you a win and Maddux will give you a nice article to write.
  22. You know Todd's son is hitting .325 for the Carolina Mudcats. Nice. He sucked pretty bad last year, though. Not to mention through his career.
