    Since you have the pitching portion of the night ready, are you ready for the booth? Tim should practice PBP and color on his own pitches. And by that I mean talking about how hard they'd be hit if there was a batter standing in. Any idea who'd be catching it?

    Wowzers, indeed. Pie with a leadoff single to right-center. Looked like a fastball on the inner portion of the plate. Theroit bounced into a 6-4-3 DP two pitches later.

    What was that in reference to? It could be applied to many things tonight, but he said that the Cubs were going to sell every single ticket to every single home game for the third straight year. That's definitely not true. He was probably told that they'd draw 3 million fans again and then somehow ended up saying that. Good AB.

    Sutcliffe seems to think that Z throws a lot of 4-seamers and can just lay it in there. He wasn't trying to paint the edge of the corners, Rick.

    I'm less worried about those HR than I am about the 18 BB. His HRs allowed have increased over the past several years, though. 9 in 2003, 14 in 2004, and 21 in 2005. His G/F ratio has decreased over that time, too. 2.28 in 2003, 1.64 in 2004, 1.62 in 2005.

    he left it over the middle of the plate. it was not a good pitch, at all. It was at the bottom part of the zone, good movement, and on the outer half of the plate. It wasn't a bad pitch.

    I don't know Ronny's splits from last year at Iowa, but Walker had a .980 OPS last year against lefties in 91 ABs. A bit extreme, but he's certainly not a Jacque Jones. According to Dusty, Neifi's starting because of his lifetime stats against Vargas. Not surprising, even though it's 3 ABs.

    Thanks, Raisin. Yeah, this is Brownlie's first start of the season. He's made six appearances out of the 'pen and will hopefully lower his WHIP below 3 tonight. The game will be free on MiLB.tv.

    If that's the case, then why come up with the underarm discomfort? Just flat out say that Woody didn't feel like pitching after his buddy died. If anyone slams him for that, they have issues. Concocting an arm injury story only fans the flames. the cubs media relations are truly horrible if this rumor is true. Why? That's none of our business. And it's not like they said that he was delayed because of an arm-related issue. If this was a factor, I'm guessing it was a combination of the two. It's none of our business if they lie to us, concocting some underarm/arm issue as the reason he didn't pitch? Geez, just put it under the reason of "personal issues" if you have to. No one is trying to get in Woody's business. Just don't make up stories (if the rumor is true - which i don't think it is). Why do you keep calling it an arm issue? It wasn't an arm issue. They never said it was an arm issue. Do you really Acosta's death would cause Kerry to lose six days? If this is true, the odds are it was a combination of both factors. I really don't see how this means that they made up the tightness.

    Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions. What does the new facility in the Dominican Republic mean for the Cubs? What kind of advantage does it provide? How many other teams have similar facilities in the Dominican Republic and Venezuela? I've heard numerous American-born players rave about their experiences in winter ball. Aside from extra playing time, what does winter ball do for prospects that they don't get during the minor league season? We've seen some players change positions after a few seasons. What is the process of determining positions for some of these guys and what are the most difficult parts of that? How difficult is it to work with the government to get your players visas? What was your favorite part of managing in the Midwest League? What was it like to get the game ball from the Chiefs' first home win?
