  1. Why? I doubt Marshall has made decent contact for a basehit since high school. No reason to mess around with Hairston. I guess I'm just a little old school. Second inning and your ace on the mound with the #8 hitter up. I go after him. We can probably expect both managers to play for one run in most situations given the conditions, so they'll probably do what they can to limit the situations in which the other team can score a single run. Sean needs some more work on holding runners.

  3. I'd rather have him break the 7-inning mark. Given the way Dusty has handled him, they'd likely occur together.
  4. I'd sure like to see Marshall break the 90 pitch mark today.
  5. It's gotta be frustrating to keep the ball on the ground and in the infield after a leadoff walk but still lose the shutout. And have 1 ER in 6 IP raise your ERA, although that's not a bad position to be in. The pitchers second in PCL ERA has given up 1 ER in 2 IP tonight, moving Hill into second for the time being. Chad Gaudin leads the PCL with a 0.52 ERA in 17.1 IP.
  6. It's going to be a little colder than originally thought. Gametime windchill will be in the mid-30s.
  7. Thanks, Bruce. Maybe we'll get to see Restovich in right tomorrow. Maybe.
  8. And it's managed to get personal before the game even started. Stop it.
  9. Thanks, Raisin. Please dominate, Rich. Thanks.
  10. This one is directly from WGN Radio: http://www.jonmdavis.net/cubs/WGNOpener2004original.mp3 This is from the radio: http://www.jonmdavis.net/cubs/WGNOpener2004.mp3
  11. Gametime temp should be in the low 40s with a windchill in the upper 30s. The wind will be blowing in from left at about 10 mph. Clear skies, though.
  12. Iowa loses 4-1. Pie went 2-4 with a single, double (into the right field corner again), and also got an assist. He hit Augie after fielding a double, who then gunned down the runner at home.
  13. Barrett's gotta look at that tape because that was a situation to do exactly what Murton and Jones did. Look for the fastball up and away.
  14. Now that's how you turn around a game!!! It was obvious that he wasn't going to come inside. Jones was looking for that one.
  15. Wait for a fastball to turn on, Ramirez. Don't go after the stuff on the outside corner right away.
  16. Felix strikes out on a check swing. He certainly did not like the call. He stood in the batter's box for about 5 seconds just staring out into left field.
