  1. I would to if I didn't have directv or if it wasn't snowing here.
  2. There's a report saying that innovative Oklahoma OC Kevin Wilson is expected to become Indiana's new coach.
  3. Some other bowl stuff. According to the Boston Globe, if UConn wins the Big East, the Champs Sports Bowl may take West Virginia instead of Notre Dame, which would probably create a Notre Dame vs. Miami matchup in the Sun Bowl.
  4. Kansas State has accepted an invitation to play in the Pinstripe Bowl against Syracuse. Other accepted invitations: Southern Mississippi in the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl Utah in the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl (will likely face either Boise State or Nevada) San Diego State vs. Navy in Poinsettia Bowl Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl Air Force in the Independence Bowl East Carolina in Military Bowl Army in Armed Forces Bowl Texas A&M in Cotton Bowl
  5. But has there been any word of the training grounds being air conditioned?
  6. Apparently there were 4 bids for 2018. 4! "Spain and Portugal...or Portugal and Spain." Great delay tactic.
  7. Now he's talking about the history of soccer. This is like Bart giving his book report on Treasure Island.
  8. Boring.
  9. Was Bob Knight always the worst color analyst to ever have a microphone? In addition to spending 15 seconds explaining why a 3 point lead was better than a 2 point lead, he just advocated missing a FT with 3 seconds left when up 3 since VT wouldn't have a chance.
  10. Gruden to Miami has been rumored to be a done deal twice. Both instances have been followed by rejections either from Gruden himself or a source close to him.
  11. In more minor news, UMass is planning on becoming an FBS program and reportedly seeking to join the MAC.
  12. Since they were too caught up in the 2016 Olympics bid, they didn't do much to work with US Soccer. There are some issues with the playing surface, among other things, but nothing some money can't fix. Capacity is a hurdle that they'd be able to overcome, most likely. If Chicago wants it later on, hopefully they'll be able to get added. It looks like the announcement is at 9 AM central tomorrow. Is that correct? EDIT: Well, ESPN's release says they'll have the announcement and reactions on SportsCenter starting at 8 AM central. ESPN3 will have coverage of the press conference starting at 9 AM central. Not sure.
  13. Wait, what? Is that real? You're surprised that Theriot would be a shameless suck up? He's short and white. No need to work any harder for the admiration of Cardinals fans.
  14. It's a possibility, though the Outback Bowl rep didn't talk much about Illinois in the article. It's impossible to tell at this point just what any of the bowls below the Capital One Bowl are going to do.
  15. Texas A&M to the Cotton Bowl. Stewart Mandel believes that means the loser between Nebraska and Oklahoma will go to the Alamo Bowl, Mizzou to Insight, and Oklahoma State to the Holiday Bowl.
  16. He said that's based on some of the whispers he's hearing. But it's more talk of strong possibility, not even rumors of what will happen. Penn State had 1,000 unsold tickets from its allotment at the Capital One bowl last year, which doesn't help them. But while Iowa exceeded their allotment by quite a bit last year, they were just at the Outback Bowl 2 years ago. It'd be an interesting move.
  17. It's widely being reported now. TCU will join the Big East in all sports starting 2012-13.
  18. TCU scheduled a press conference for 1 PM central.
  19. Couldn't hear the whistle, but the head linesman was signaling the play dead.
  20. Why do you think the Rose Bowl will pass on Stanford? I think that they're forced to take the minor conference team this year if that team is not in the national title game. They have to take a non-AQ once in this bowl cycle if either the Pac-10 or Big Ten champion plays in the national championship game (but not if a non-AQ also plays in the championship game). They'd probably be best off taking a #3 TCU considering they might be left with worse options in the next few years, especially if the team they're passing on is one with a smaller fan base.
  21. I don't think Michigan's position changed at all today. The only difference might be Penn State possibly getting picked ahead of Iowa for the Outback since Iowa was there 2 years ago and finished the season worse than Penn State. But I'd be a little surprised if that actually happened. Michigan was going to have to win to get selected over Penn State or Iowa, 2 teams that have pretty good traveling reputations and aren't facing potentially distracting rumors about coaching changes. Insight against a team like Missouri is a pretty safe bet.
  22. Starting this year, bowls that have spots which are not filled by contract obligations are free to pick any team they wish, which means they can pass a 7-5 at large team for an at large 6-6 team. I don't think there's a selection order for at large bowl bids, so it's really just up to the bowls and school ADs to get the deals done. But bowls can't pass on a bowl eligible team from a contracted conference for an at large team. If there aren't enough bowl eligible teams to fill all bowl spots, then the remaining bowls would be allowed to invite a 5-7 team.
  23. You mean Gator.
  24. I don't think decisions can get any worse than that.
