  1. Bears chances of winning rockets up to…16%
  2. This team is just awful right now
  3. It appears the answer is definitively: no
  4. Can the Bears achieve a first down before half?
  5. I don’t know why we should settle for mediocrity just because he had two adequately professional offensive games. Get the best offensive mind that’s available. That’s it.
  6. I’m not watching but following intermittently on my phone. Defense has completely given up right?
  7. It would be sad in the "oh my how sad it is that our franchise is this bad" but it would be amazing in every real meaningful way
  8. it would be so so funny (and sad) if Caleb Williams in his rookie season sets the Bears single-season passing yardage record. (there would absolutely be angry meatballs saying that was bad because we weren't running the ball enough or whatever)
  9. At this point, I just assume everything, the refs, the bouncing of the ball, the weather, our head coach, etc conspire against us to lose. This is perhaps the most snake bitten season I’ve ever seen. Last year I comforted myself by imagining we’ll “get it out of our system” with the bad losses, but it only got worse. and perhaps there’s no end to it. We just have to live with it forever. I dunno. I’d hope the ball bounces the other way at some point, but why should it? It’s the gamblers fallacy that it should.
  10. Given where the Bears D is at, this might be similar to that game where Jared Goff had like 10 attempts. The Lions have no reason to really throw the ball that much, just run it down our throats. (Which will, sadly, shorten the game for Caleb pass attempts)
  11. One of the things I liked about Caleb’s game last week was that he threw the ball downfield into coverage and trusted his receivers to come up with the ball, which, for the most part they did. Wouldn’t be shocked if he throws a pick or two in this one because they’ll likely be trailing early. But I’m glad he got his moxie back and he isn’t playing scared.
  12. It may not be something we did or didn’t do - the football gods are closer to the Greek Pantheon than any other. They are fickle and they like to play with lesser mortals. It may just amuse them to toy with us.
  13. I really hate the game of football
  14. Lmao the vaunted defense is very timely in its collapses
  15. Lmao this game is hilarious. Everyone but Caleb is combining to form a Volton of “lose the game”
  16. Caleb deserves so much better than this
  17. Lmao just fire Eberflus mid game dude
  18. I want to see Roshon more on early downs. Just in general I prefer the way he runs on early downs between the tackles. But it’ll be interesting to see what he can do as the main back if Swift can’t go.
  19. It's almost unfair that they are forcing the Bears to play these games. I should be happy to at least get to watch Caleb play but man, they've sucked so much joy out of the game from me.
  20. If I cared more, I’d be upset at the double standard of the refs calling “”””leverage”””” on us in the Arizona game (that of course completely changed the complexion of the game) and not calling the exact same thing (in a much higher leverage spot!) on the Packers. i somehow deluded myself into thinking we were getting the bad juju out last year, but instead it got worse.
  21. At this moment, Caleb Williams has had 6 pretty stinker games (and in one of those stinkers, he led what should have been a GW drive), 3 unquestionably good games, and 1 arguably ok game (Rams game I'd say is ambiguous). So, he's definitely not been top top - but just from the eye test I am pretty happy with where he's at. The numbers are rough on him, but that's not really the only thing I trust when it comes to evaluating QBs. BUT, he still has more bad/mediocre games at this point than good ones, and those are just facts we gotta deal with.
  22. I want to be very clear here: I think you absolutely take another play. You try to center the ball and you get as close as you can for Santos. But it’s not a guaranteed positive play, given Caleb was sacked twice on that drive alone. I don’t think it’s guaranteed to have benefited the Bears.
  23. At the end of the day, I don’t even find the particular move from Eberflus to not run another play that impactful. It’s very likely it wouldn’t have gotten the Bears significantly closer, and the kick would have missed anyway. Like, he still should have done it, but that specific choice isn’t the end of the world for me. no, my biggest problem with Matt Eberflus is that he is somehow a black hole of bad luck and bad vibes and horrible things continuously happen to his teams as a rate I’ve never before seen in any sport. I don’t think I’ve seen more unlucky, bizarre, inexplicable things happen to a coach in so short of time to cause his teams to lose. He needs to go, he needs to take his bad stink away, forever. I don’t know what it is exactly that is causing it, and frankly I don’t need to know. Go, begone!
  24. It's kind of amazing to look at the Steelers and see a team that has below average talent at QB that manages to maneuver itself to an 8-2 record no matter what. They are really the bizarro Bears - managing to do what the Bears always say they want to do (win by good defense, running game, special teams and coaching) and never do.
