  1. I feel so blissfully vindicated for not watching this game
  2. I would like a lot of things buddy but it don’t mean it’ll happen
  3. Ahhh we’re entering double maximum heartbreak territory
  4. I honestly would almost be mad if they win this game by virtue of the fact that if they could have held on to win the last two weeks they would certainly be in the playoff picture
  5. Now if the situations were reversed, this would be a classic game the Bears would blow late. The Lions are of course, not the Bears, and will almost certainly prevail. But, still, great second half for Caleb.
  6. Here’s my lock prediction for maximum heartbreak: Caleb puts together a gutsy TD drive to cut this to a FG lead. Defense immediately gives up a 7 minute scoring drive
  7. Boy howdy do the Bears love losing yardage on 1st down runs
  8. Caleb improving his stat line which is nice
  9. When you’re bad, or struggling, it really does feel like the refs look for opportunities to stick the dagger in. Nothing goes your way
  10. Bears chances of winning rockets up to…16%
  11. This team is just awful right now
  12. It appears the answer is definitively: no
  13. Can the Bears achieve a first down before half?
  14. I don’t know why we should settle for mediocrity just because he had two adequately professional offensive games. Get the best offensive mind that’s available. That’s it.
  15. I’m not watching but following intermittently on my phone. Defense has completely given up right?
  16. It would be sad in the "oh my how sad it is that our franchise is this bad" but it would be amazing in every real meaningful way
  17. it would be so so funny (and sad) if Caleb Williams in his rookie season sets the Bears single-season passing yardage record. (there would absolutely be angry meatballs saying that was bad because we weren't running the ball enough or whatever)
  18. At this point, I just assume everything, the refs, the bouncing of the ball, the weather, our head coach, etc conspire against us to lose. This is perhaps the most snake bitten season I’ve ever seen. Last year I comforted myself by imagining we’ll “get it out of our system” with the bad losses, but it only got worse. and perhaps there’s no end to it. We just have to live with it forever. I dunno. I’d hope the ball bounces the other way at some point, but why should it? It’s the gamblers fallacy that it should.
  19. Given where the Bears D is at, this might be similar to that game where Jared Goff had like 10 attempts. The Lions have no reason to really throw the ball that much, just run it down our throats. (Which will, sadly, shorten the game for Caleb pass attempts)
  20. One of the things I liked about Caleb’s game last week was that he threw the ball downfield into coverage and trusted his receivers to come up with the ball, which, for the most part they did. Wouldn’t be shocked if he throws a pick or two in this one because they’ll likely be trailing early. But I’m glad he got his moxie back and he isn’t playing scared.
  21. It may not be something we did or didn’t do - the football gods are closer to the Greek Pantheon than any other. They are fickle and they like to play with lesser mortals. It may just amuse them to toy with us.
  22. I really hate the game of football
  23. Lmao the vaunted defense is very timely in its collapses
