Honestly this is something I've gotten onto right now. I'm of the opinion errors should be abolished completely and any time a hitter puts a ball into play and reaches base safely it is a 'hit' and helps your on base percentage. Errors were a nice idea on paper but now it ruins everything, there are plenty times a ball is an 'error' because the man is hustling down the line and forces someone to make a hurried throw, or an error is a 'hit' because a fielder can't get to it. There are basically no good consistent criteria for the difference between hits and errors. Its stupid, antiquated, terrible, much like many traditional stats. Similarly, why should someone get rewarded for getting a 'base hit' and getting thrown out at second? You are making outs, those are bad.

This is true especially against, and I must stress this again because this is important, a pitcher we haven't seen Don't get excited Cubbie fans, we aren't scoring many runs

I'd love to see his fantastic eye return, he was laying off EVERYTHING away and inside when he came in for the first 2 months, now he's flailing away. It may be fatigue and he's pressing, I really hope it is.

Neither did I I thought they would be way worse

Cubs have never faced Morton which means we're going to get brutalized today.

Good lord the Nationals are complete trash God knows they'll figure out a way to take at least one from us in our next series

I think the seasons from Dempster and Edmonds are way more improbable than the seasons guys like Ludwick and Lohse are having. Ah but the differnece is I hate the Cardinals players and I love our players Also we don't have a single player with a name more horribly annoying than Skip Schumacker.

Cards are done They went with a whimper not a bang, kind of anticlimactic with all the whining we've (I include myself) done

I'm praying to the god of the hebrews, the one that I share with Braun, that it is something that isn't career ending worthy but certainly season ending worthy

are the nats going to score 1 run in this whole series? really? I know that lineup is awful, but I'm asking for 3-4 runs minimum here guys

I'm not freaking out if we lose this one, you guys are making it bigger than it is. I was O.K. with us taking one in the series as long as we didn't get swept. We'll win of course, but again its not one of those do or die things.

Pretty terrible job Z, that sucks, you have those days though, all pitchers do. Offense hit balls hard and didn't get homers, also something I was about 98% sure was going to happen when multiple said "Omg we are so getting to Wellemeyer now!" and we of course never did. Oh well, again not a disaster, win tomorrow and we gain a game, though we'll likely lose a game on the Brewers who probably wont let the Nationals score a run.

  18. BigSlick
please god let it be one of those days where we clobber balls right at fielders it has been a while since one of those, i just can't miss the frustration of it all

another bad at bat by Lee, take strike one down the middle then HACK HACK HACK
  20. BigSlick
Ryan Braun and Nate McClouth Can I make fun of Ludwick for looking inbred? I really don't like that long necked donkey
  21. BigSlick
I wish this was a 1 o clock start, I'm going to miss a lot of the game because I'll be at work Luckily once the school year starts I'll just skip class rather than miss a Cubs game

I just want everyone to take a look at Pie's numbers in AAA this year, keeping in my mind that for about a full month he was terrible when he got sent down. He put his head on straight and got his bat back. We need to give him another chance, I'm not up for resigning Edmonds although we probably will anyway.
  23. BigSlick
    Just win please
