I really shouldn't be shocked, but I do find it surprising how much more fun, joyful and hopeful this team is when it's in a stretch of hot hitting and not a collective drought
After the comedy of errors that was bunting by pitchers in the last series, it's nice to see some unforeseen positive Buntz here. 3 might be enough against this lineup, even with Cy Haren, Greek God of Stranded Baserunners
That is a bad bad bad lineup. With Haren pitching this is some "irresistible force meets immovable object" scenario Will be fun to see what gives first
Barry Rozner is a dude that still cares about RBI and pitcher Wins, he's completely useless Though Bernstein's mechanical, slavish devotion to WAR is nearly as bad and lacks introspection and curiosity (like looking at peripherals ever)
I'm finding it impossible not to like the Blue Jays right now. They're a team full of dinger machines and they're taking down the Yankees. Its awesome. Definitely my #2 bandwagon team the rest of the way.
Cubs up to 81% in playoffs odds at Fangraphs, I assume similar numbers at Baseball Prospectus when the odds are refreshed tomorrow. http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx
I don't even want to proclaim this the best moment of the season so far, because heck they're still ascending. But I feel very positive about this sweep of the Giants
Christ almighty that was some butt clenching right there Job well done. Big sweep of a big time team. Wonder when the last time, if ever, the Cubs have had 3 4-game sweeps in a season
It's gonna be so nice not seeing the Brandons or Pence again for a while (well I guess like 2 weeks) Even though the Cubs managed it this series they are so damn dangerous
