    that wouldn't be crushing enough, they'll win just enough games to not win the division anyway, in real talk, if they win tonight and the pirates lose, we're like, totally ok. as frustrated as i am *during* the games, i'm pretty serene right now

    its mostly the injuries and disappointing progress from young players I think. Almost nobody is playing *better* than they have in recent years, with the extremely notable exception of Javy. (You could argue Schwarber I suppose, but he's smack dab in the middle of what reasonable projections are for him) Also the games are miserable because they give up runs in the first inning in 80% of games

    i hate that we have 91 wins but we started off trailing in like 87 of them this is the ultimate First World Problem, but i dont care

    the 2018 Javier Baez season has been one in which I've learned to throw all my closely held Moneyballish biases away and firmly believe in a dude who just hacks at everything, hits for enormous power and has All The Intangibles needed to win the MVP I mean, seriously, more than anything else this dude has put this sorry team on his back and has willed them to 90+ wins

    The Cubs are a hilarious 3-18 with RISP today. It's a good thing its happening in a game where we have a lead and a good performance from our pitcher.
