  1. your face is the joke
  2. so who's the first person that's going to say "should've got verlander"?
  3. none taken I assure you! yeah, it's "made to order" which i guess is just a way of saying they are unfreezing it. but it's pretty much like any fast food joint. their hot dogs are 2 for a dollar but they aren't on the metal rolling thing. they somewhat prepare them. like i said, it's not gourmet but they do have some select items that are pretty good. it doesn't take a genius to make a good cheese stick or fried pickles but they have both of those if you'd like to chop a week off your lifespan and they are solid.
  4. Cool story, but.... are you unfamiliar with sheetz or just doubtful of gas station food? i could get the mentality of the latter, but it's basically just like any fast food place on the inside except you order your food through a touch screen monitor. i mean the food is kinda "meh" but it's comparable to any other FF joint. lately i've really liked their flatbread turkey sausage sandwich (turkey sausage/grilled oninons/eggs/cheese) which i'm sure is probably frozen for the most part. but it's quick and cheap and efficient and they serve it all day. i also hold very low standards for food so take this take with a grain of salt. for reference, i have a 12 pack of busch light in my fridge. i've found if you lower your expectations (or are too broke to do anything else) then you're slightly happier. basically, it's all the same horsefeathers if you squint hard enough.
  5. Rasin, I believe your tireless hard word in this forum was paid off in karma by last night's UCLA game. Thanks!!
  6. i think everyone understands he (and team) had to get somewhat lucky to pull off one of the most improbable comebacks in, i imagine, the history of the sport. that goes without saying and it was still an incredible comeback despite of any luck variable. that's my entire point.
  7. piss off, ginger! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/news/2016/09/29/6455882-ramsay-news_trans_NvBQzQNjv4BqbRF8GMdXQ5UNQkWBrq_MOBxo7k3IcFzOpcVpLpEd-fY.jpg?imwidth=450
  8. NSBB board: Man, Schwarber hasn't been amazing or anything but he's been a LOT better lately Derwood: Yeah, but look at those strikeouts tho NSBB board: WOW, Rosen had an INSANE 4th quarter in an incredible comeback! Derwood: Yeah, but he was lucky
  9. I was looking for a succinct way to say what I was trying to say. This is it.
  10. The same. Their leaves will change within a month or so.
  11. yeah i mean everyone expected him to decline a bit as the years go by. he's been battling a wrist injury among other things. nothing is unexpected. if addison is healthy then he would get more rest and i expect him to get more next year and hopefully he's less hurt, too. he's as advertised.
  12. coming in hot with the first post what the horsefeathers is he talking about "bartman's group"? it's a dumb and meatball take and on top of that it doesn't even make sense. who is this group? none of this makes sense and now i'm kind of sad i am spending time and energy even responding
  13. was at a sheetz gas station in greenville, nc today with my MB pelicans hat on and the guy behind me in line saw it and tells me that they went to a pelicans game (i assume in MB on vacation based on the story) and met the owner or GM (he couldn't remember). Anyway, they got to talking and this owner/GM/cubs "person" and he let his little girl (appeared about 8 or so from the pic) wear his cubs world series ring and she was wearing a cubs hat so i assume dad was a cubs fan, too. i was waiting on food to be prepared and the guy left after he bought gas or whatever so didn't have much time to talk to him. but pretty cool that i wear a cubs minor league affiliate hat in this eastern NC city and came into contact with a guy that saw a legit Cubs WS ring this summer on his own kids finger.
  14. go ahead and plug in my man Jen-Ho as our new Kyle Hendricks and the 5th spot in the rotation he and kyle will be best buds and we will have both bryzzo and tsengricks - cubs twitter is going to eat it up Jen-Ho and Kyle will probably also more than likely be paid a stipend to create some new stat for theo and company
  15. isn't the knights park built with potential expansion for MLB in mind? move the rays there. i've not personally heard that but it would add up. it would make sense on multiple levels. Raleigh and Charlotte continue to have a population boom and NC is one of (if not the most) populated state that doesn't have an MLB team, I believe. ETA: typed this up right after David posted it last night and then left for the night and just caught up on the chatter this morning and hit submit.
  16. wow. nice work jon. other than some unlucky breaks he's looking like vintage lester
  17. and UT scored 2 TD on defense and special teams...
  18. i mean holy horsefeathers. skip to the 1:00 mark (unless you want to get a peek at the future good NFL back/receiver Jalen Samuels of NCSU). That throw at 1:25 is what sold me on Trubisky. And he damn near brought them back from 0-28 by himself. i'm not crowning him but i knew then the guy is super talented: and lol i had totally forgot state upset them on senior day and at chapel hill. their defense horsefeathering sucks (and now their offense will too thanks to early departures)
  19. As the dumb dude who mentioned 20 years I'll just say that anyone who read my post and interpreted it that way is about as dumb as the guy who is ready to crown his as the savior of the franchise based on 3 preseason games. I have a lot more than 3 preseason games. I was hyping him long before the combine. His pocket awareness, his release, his ability to run. The fact that when his head moves, his feet don't, and he keeps both feet beneath him when he throws. He's the deal. and i'm the guy that absolutely loathes the tar heels (and nc state DID beat UNC/Trubisky last year) and i was/am singing his praises. but, i've never been anything but impressed with him. they lost to NCSU in spite of him not because of him (it irritates me so much when QB's are judged by W/L records of an extremely team sport but i'll digress). i hate the tar heels so much that i didn't want him to be so good. but from watching him i could tell he really was something special. i mean i've not been pitching in on this thread all that much bc i'm not a bears far. but if a tar heel does well enough that i can't even hate him but i respect him then he's pretty gd good.
  20. bold prediction: Leonys Martin and El Mago will be some of the stars of the game (gm 6?) when the cubs win their back-to-back WS javy will yawn as he steals home again and martin will gun someone out at home in the 8th as a defensive replacement (and probably steal a base or something)
  21. I know he's not much, if anything, of a prospect but keep this man in the organization even if it's as a coach or bullpen catcher GET OUT OF MY HEAD I swear i was going to make this post almost verbatim
