    know i'm sidetracking the thread here, but did you literally have this dream/nightmare? i'm always amazed by people who seeming have "normal" or "coherent" dreams. like, my dreams (i rarely remember them) are normally SUPER weird and don't really make sense. occasionally i'll have one that (barely) makes sense and features real people but for the vast majority of times it's just like some crazy alternate world with a stream of crazy images and characters and content and i wake up and i'm like "wtf was that all about daniel?" i mean it's not like i'm doing anything wrong in them, but, there're just...weird [i need one person to like this post to ensure i'm not a crazy person dreamer] ... [or a legit crazy person]

    not long term thing or anything but any chance tseng's stuff will play up a bit from the pen? know he's not overpowering usually, but wasn't sure if his FB would tick up a bit if he were a sept call up? he's been really good for a while now. i'm hoping he's a poor man's kyle hendricks (that kinda makes me feel racist to type but y'all know what i mean). maybe just because i've always liked him, but i legitimately think he COULD be a solid 5th starter in the future. Solid, unspectacular, low walks, low/moderate strikeouts, +soft contact, etc.

    I was enjoying it just fine until their left fielder made a shoestring catch that probably works out 5% of the time, turns it into a triple play, and then 15 minutes later we go from up 3-0 to down 5-3. We've lost A LOT of games this year we should've won. Probably won't prevent us from making the playoffs, but it's been a year full of plenty of frustrating losses. so if they lose in the playoffs it's just an "off" year (theo himself insinuated that it's not likely but possible it can just be a "down" year for more than then normal amount of guys and horsefeathers can just turn south. though, this was when they were behind the vaunted brewers and now they're several games up so whatevs). or, they could get hot in the playoffs because they are like a 90 percent favorite to make the playoffs (i made this number up because i'm folding laundry) and if they get "lucky" we can say "hey, here's the cubs i've been expecting!" either way they won the horsefeathering WS last year. deep breaths.

    i'll worry when they aren't in first place. until then just live your lives and try (i know it's hard) to enjoy a baseball game if you choose to watch

    yes. losing 2 of 3 instead of winning 2 of 3 is "tough". we all want them to win every horsefeathering game. it's baseball. calm the hell down.

    First, the game isn't over. Second, in that very same World Series season you reference Lackey pitched every 5 days. So yes, dumb post. Lol. So because Lackey was the 5th starter on the World Series team they shouldn't have looked to upgrade? They should have just counted on an aging Lackey to again perform admirably as 5th starter? Yea, you're dumb. Dumb post. you realize the cubs are an overwhelming favorite to make the playoffs and from there it's a crapshoot and lackey won't pitch, right? what, exactly, are you so upset about? average pitcher being an average pitcher? look, i hate the SOB as much as anybody but he eats up innings [insert joke] and does an average job. it's what we expected. it's what the cubs got. in summary, shut up.
