    i mean assuming he doesn't just absolutely hate the city/team he's traded (it would obviously be a contender so a good team) why in the world would he want to opt out? He's not going to get paid more money than what he's scheduled to get paid (which seems obvious considering he cleared waivers)

    i mean duke could probably tell me i don't love my mother enough i'd come back and say, "no, i do" then he'd say "well, if you look at your [insert some sympathy stats] along with your phone call FIP of x..." to which i'd reply, "yeah, i guess so. i stand corrected" and immediately call my mom and tell her i'm sorry and love her.

    we got the whole 9 vs duke silver yeah, the point spread on that one is astronomical

    i would never be "embarrassed" of a sports team because it's a group of other adult men or women that i have no actual affiliation and i cannot control the outcome of the games. that's so silly to me that i cannot even wrap my mind around it. frustrated is about as far as i'd go. but, like i've always done, if the cubs fail to make the playoffs (or even get bumped quickly) i'll be frustrated for about 24 hours and then i'll think about the times this year that were awesome and enjoyable and i'm over it. i also just start focusing on my next sports team season - it's a cyclical thing year-round for me which i love.
