this is nitpicking but wouldn't Q be considered our "#2" now? obv doesn't mean anything but he surely would have surpassed jake as second best on the rotation, right? though if second half jake sticks around then it's very close i suppose. now that i typed that out i realize that was silly. this is second half super cubs and they're all equally #1's except bojack. horsefeathers him this is a true statement: i would have said something like that but he is literally dead to me unless i see his stupid, ugly face

Unless you really take him at his word about not caring about money AT ALL, aren't we pretty much out on Otani anyway? Yeah, agreed. Unless there is some "under the table" things about future contracts/money or whatever I didn't think we had any shot at all on Otani. And if we did somehow get him he would have to be cheap for the near future anyway. Which, of course, would be awesome. Just give them Caratini/Zagunis and eat 3/4 of the contract and get Avila and JV
