  1. and only Donald Trump can rival him when it comes to self congratulations...but at least Williams merits it.as someone who visited the "Ted Williams Hitter's Hall of Fame" in Florida as a child I can endorse this (I want to say he had himself as like the #2 hitter of all time or something - again, probably not crazy but certainly self congratulatory). Plus, while I never saw him, the reserved spot had a Lambo or Ferrari or something parked in it with some kind of vanity plate so I believe he was even inside somewhere. I'll have to ask my uncle or dad if they remember what the license plate read - but it was something (along with the car) that would be logical for his ride.
  2. fwiw (read: little) the time or two that I saw Maples he didn't have very good command and scuffled a bit. of course these are isolated games/instances but just wanted to chime in that I agree it's just a matter of commanding his stuff to be successful. he clearly had good stuff, though.
  3. my wildcard hopefully will quit asking for a break in playing time ETA: and also start hitting HRs again
  4. lester going tomorrow against archer instead of lackey
  5. i pretty much just think that at every plate appearance for him at this point. I assume he's capable of hitting at least one this year a mighty woosh I didn't watch any of the game yesterday - just saw box score after a bunch of day drinking on the golf course. *checks yesterday's game stats* whoops! nothing to see here, carry on.
  6. i was watching and didn't see it. and, even if he *maybe* could squint hard enough to see perhaps a brush of a finger, it certainly wasn't enough to overturn a safe call IMO. these replay reviews are incredibly flaky and unreliable in regards to their standards of proof
  7. Yesterday would've been a horrible time for it. i pretty much just think that at every plate appearance for him at this point. I assume he's capable of hitting at least one this year
  8. now seems like a good time for jay's first HR
  9. horsefeathers off umps, cubs score more anyway
  10. what the horsefeathers is that. holy horsefeathers what a horrible horsefeathering call on the out at third (and could've been safe at first too)
  11. cubs easily have the two top sliders in baseball: baez and willson
  12. I'd like a pair of those USA socks the players are wearing to wear to work
  13. oh come on. it's a joke about how Fred would have probably had the answer with his extensive statistics. sorry if it's offensive but i didn't think it would be at all. i wasn't serious. did you not see that i liked the post? my bad. and yes, but not until after i had already posted the reply
  14. PS - miss you fred. this would have been one of those "fred game thread specials" where he'd have like 40 percent of the posts.
  15. one second *grabs ouija board and asks fred* damn, this is dark as hell oh come on. it's a joke about how Fred would have probably had the answer with his extensive statistics. sorry if it's offensive but i didn't think it would be at all.
  16. jake's been pretty good with him throwing a shut out and all
  17. one second *grabs ouija board and asks fred*
  18. Gang...band...you get the point yes but i was already going to make a pointless post about westbook's 5 grade NBA Jam rating so I figured why the hell not throw that in while I'm at it.
  19. how's westbrook only a 5 grade for pass? also, i think you meant band?
  20. that's not a "cut". that looks like someone took sandpaper and raked it back and forth along his hand for like 2 hours.
