Where ru getting the better team stuff from? optimism? or the fact the cubs beat them in the playoffs last year and are defending champs? it's a 7 game series. anything can happen apologies for this post. i was catching up on this thread and saw many, many more dumb horsefeathers posted that i probably should respond to. if only it wasn't pointless. when they win tonight that's pretty much all you can ask for. the BP should be well rested now. Lester is a somewhat cool(?), redneck, red ass, playoff monster and he's going to pitch his ass off because he eats POS like the dodgers for breakfast. the cubs will win tonight and have another off day tomorrow to rest up and re-calibrate. they won early Friday morning and had to travel from freaking DC to LA and play quickly (relatively speaking for the playoffs) with a wildly fatigued bullpen. This team doesn't back down - i have no doubt they are still supremely confident they'll win this series. win tonight - one day at a time. for crying out loud they were down 1-3 last year in the WORLD SERIES. it sucks they lost but it's only one game - it barely moves the needle at all. oh, and when kershaw pitches again they are going to CRUSH him

Weather.com only forecasting a half inch of rain. Hopefully they can play through it? Though it'll prob be closer to a full inch when you factor in the Nationals tears.

agreed. some random guy walked up to me and said "did you see that?" (bc i live in NC and i was obviously the only person at the bar that cared about baseball) which would have usually pissed me off but it didn't because it was such a beatiful damn dong. i've never hated and respected a dong/bat flip as much as that one.

just want to say i appreciate all of you guys (raisin/tom/davell/toonster/etc.) because i enjoy trying to keep up with the cubs farm system. this is pretty much a one-stop-shop for keeping up with it without me having to do much work/effort. thanks to you all ETA: it's really impressive the work you all do and i enjoy seeing the opinions and impressions of the players that each of you have. i saw Eloy earlier this year and other than, "yep. he sure looks the part and believe he could/will be a stud" is pretty much where my analysis ended. basically, my baseball acumen is probably a 30 grade at best.

guys, give mojo a bit of a break. guess what i did NOT do during innings 7-8 last night? perhaps coincidence but maybe not i think the loss was more heartbreaking because the friends of the lady friend at the bar were super annoying and i just wanted the cubs to make me happy to make them less annoying. after the 8th inning i didn't say anything for about 30 min but then drank another beer which cheered me up and i was over it. i can't wait for tomorrow afternoon. wrigley will be rocking and i have full confidence in Q. it's going to be a really fun Monday afternoon and kudos for ECU that they timed fall break for M and T so i don't even have to teach tomorrow night *stars aligning*

lol holy hell i went to record a quick snap chat video bc i only get the spanish audio on my tv for some reason right now and i caught the rizzo HR and the audio was amazing! i really hope they do not fix this bc it's so much better than the american broadcast even though i don't know what they're saying

i really like ernie as a person and he has really good elements to his delivery etc. but, he's just so clearly out of his element doing baseball. i feel like it would be like me (if i was more talented) suddenly cramming and doing an NHL game with like a week or so research.

Dusty really doesn't deserve Trea Turner. He's like the one guy that is actually good at being a Dusty Player: leading off despite low walk total because he can BABIP his way to a good average. And actually efficient while running all the time. agreed. i've been singing his praises since his NCSU days.
