  1. Maybe he lost his voice like that USC running back?
  2. OMG
  3. JoePa isn't such a good guy, he doesn't even think women should drive.
  4. It seems fairly obviously that Bagwell was a juicer, too. Dude is like 1/3 of his playing size right now. Nobody thinks that would have implications to his potential "first time ballot" induction?

    NFL Week 17

I generally watch it, but just because it's football. It's not football. Agreed. It's a free trip to Hawaii during sub-arctic temperatures for a bunch of football players who will dress up in uniform for a couple of hours with the likelihood that the uniform will be just as clean when they take it off as it was when they put it on. That's not football. Except it's not even a trip to Hawaii anymore - they moved it to Miami. Funny video OMC, thanks for the link!
  6. Yeah. They are looking awfully good. Having them in the mix and playing great will only make the playoffs that much more interesting, from my perspective. If they didn't have Norv Turner as a HC, they'd look like a much more legitimate playoff threat. some would say that Turner's offense is what has put them in this position. Keep in mind that the Chargers have bounced the colts out of the playoffs the last two years as well. A Chargers/Saints Super Bowl would be very interesting.
  7. Yeah, for shits and giggles I looked back and read a little of that 2008 nfl draft thread - pretty funny stuff. That was about the only positive thing said about Chris Johnson and even that was an underwhelming endorsement.
  8. That week 17 loss to the Redskins will only hurt worse now...
  9. I'd like to sign Church, who I'd think would come relatively cheap, and play either him or Fukudome in CF and the other in RF. Hopefully that would leave us with enough money to sign Hudson to replace Fontenot. Soriano Hudson Lee Ramirez Fukudome Soto Church Theriot Probably will never happen, but that's not a bad lineup.
  10. First of all, this was a very bad trade (which occurred as a result of a bad contract offer in the first place). I'm not advocating this trade and I think/hope Bradley could have netted a greater gain than a few million over a couple years. That being said, whether legitimate or not, I don't think it was anything more than a salary dump. Therefore, I think the "this team is by far worse with Silva than without" argument is useless. The guy sucks and I don't see Lou keeping him past ST when he inevitably sucks. Keep in mind that last year Hendry dumped Marquis and his salary for Vizcaino who was shown the door after only a few appearances - despite his salary. Lou will be under an even greater pressure this year to win and I don't see him keeping a shitty pitcher around strictly because of his salary. That said, as others have mentioned, when Hendry wastes the few extra million on another undeserving player, then this whole logic and reasoning will be moot.
  11. It was love at first sight.
  12. TEBOW RULES Fail.
  13. That was a great win by ECU. I really thought Houston would have too much offense, but didn't expect the strong offense from the Pirates. Holtz is making it hard for a BCS conference school to keep overlooking him. Yeah, when we didn't make the cut the last time the Big East expanded it was a tough pill to swallow. I think the basketball team really held them down, but ECU's baseball program can compete with just about anyone. Unless the Big East expands again (doubtful), I'm not sure who would be a viable candidate to pick up ECU. Therefore, I think Holtz may be gone within the next couple of years. That said, he's a good recruiter but not special when it comes to in-game coaching strategy. Often times he wins with the talent he has in spite of his coaching, not vice versa.
  14. I'm about a week late (and no one probably cares anyway) but how about those Pirates of ECU? Woot!
  15. National coverage game, live from Greenville, NC. Please don't embarrass us pirates! :beg:
  16. I appreciate the insight - nice piece. However, Meggs seems to harp that Jarmillo is almost "against" or at least impartial to walks and OBP. Will Lou's mentality offset this?
  17. Agreed, he should have defensive POY closed to locked up by now. If he continues to perform at this rate he will probably get some MVP votes. Has a defensive player ever won MVP? LT
  18. Yeah I'm playing my nephew who is starting him. I was happy to see him starting when I was watching pregame. Not too happy about it now. Yep, he looks to be the difference in one of my leagues... :banghead:
  19. What's that make Philip Rivers? Satan's spawn?
  20. Other than habitual gamblers, who the hell cares? I mean, if he did it (and I'm not saying he did), he took a dumb risk in an otherwise meaningless ballgame. If he did this every game then surely he would have been identified as a cheater long ago. Arroyo has sucked all year. He basically sucks at pitching. He pitched a (i.e. one) good game. Can't we just leave it at that? The chances of him risking his reputation and future in baseball just to "stick it to the cardinals" for ONE game seems kinda flimsy. Just my opinion.
  21. Smith is fine as your no. 2 back. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he put up really, really good numbers this year. McFadden is a boom or bust guy, though. Don't want to start a new thread, just thought that I'd share my top sleepers/value picks I've picked up in mid to late rounds in my leagues: Palmer (all my leagues are 2 QB leagues), Ochocinco, Gonzalez (WR Indy), Avery, Addai, Johnson (RB KC), Keller, Ward & Graham (I think both will consistently post quality numbers). Any thoughts, comments, criticisms, or additions are welcome. I'm looking for many of those guys to have better years either from injury comebacks, increased role from other player departures, etc. I was also hoping to pick up Olsen as a mid round guy, but he got scooped up right before I targeted him in each of my leagues. I think he's going to be a top 5 TE this year for sure.
  22. Is FSU's secondary blind?
  23. Intelligent play has never been either of these team's strong point. Haha, nice XP
  24. I would think so
