  1. I already voted Gil Meche as the AL Cy Young.
  2. Hahahaha, was it even his decision, or did the Cubs tell him to stay in Mesa? Hahahaha, I don't know. If you were a betting man, what would you put your money on? Hahahaha, did you even read the article? I am a betting man, and I'm betting no. Hahahaha, yes I read the article. It doesn't say who's decision it was, but if you can honestly tell me that you wouldn't be surprised if Prior said it, then you haven't been paying much attention the last few years. Surprised if he said it? No, I wouldn't be. I've seen Prior speak before and I trust that he has mastered the English language enough to form a sentence together. Surprised if it was his call as to where he goes to pitch? Yes. I wouldn't be shocked if he was in on the process somewhat, but I highly doubt it was entirely up to him without the Cubs front office being involved at all. The article didn't make it sound like that, at all, so I'm not sure where this is coming from, though.
  3. Hahahaha, was it even his decision, or did the Cubs tell him to stay in Mesa? Hahahaha, I don't know. If you were a betting man, what would you put your money on? Its been pretty common in the past to keep pitchers on minor league rehab assignments with the warmer climate teams. I really doubt that this was Prior's call, or that he could decide where he goes anyway. If I were a big, rich wuss that could dictate where I got to pitch...send me to Daytona baby.
  4. Or browsing a mini mall At the market!

  6. Hahahaha, was it even his decision, or did the Cubs tell him to stay in Mesa? Edit: The article makes it look like Prior had zero say in the decision making process. It also says that the decision hasn't even been made yet, so in other words, shut it up.
  7. I can't wait til he prices himself out of Milwaukee. Didn't we hit him pretty well in 04 or 05? Not that it matters, send his ass to the highest bidder.
  8. Predict the game Dunn breaks Bonds' HR record Game 154
  9. Looks like his inevitable arm injury will come sooner than usual this season. He only threw 104 pitches. Remember, he doesnt walk anyone.
  10. FYI, ARod just picked up his first error of the season and is already getting booed.
  11. As the other resident Titans fan, I feel a bigger need is at WR. They have absolutely no depth there and I can almost definitely see them taking Meachem or Jarrett. Though, nothing against your pick. They do need a good pass rusher. What we really needed to do was bring back Bennett, but I'm not terribly upset after seeing the contract he signed. It'll be tough for us to compete next season, I'm afraid. Yeah, I cried a little when I saw that Bennett signed with the Rams. I'll admit it. He was my favorite Titan. At this point, Vince Young has no one to throw to. Heck, even Bobby Wade left (signed with my other favorite team, the Vikings, who I'm drafting for). BRANDON JONES
  12. LaRussa overthinks a situation for the first time this season. It only took 2 1/3 innings.
  13. Thank god he totally lost the ability to throw strikes, I was scared to death he was gonna be in St. Louis, pitching for a decade.
  14. Pierre doesnt put out, he gets out Catcher Yadier Molina First Base Sean Casey Second Base Jose Lopez Third Base Chone Figgins Shortstop Adam Everett Left Field Scott Podsednik Center Field Willy Taveras Right Field Juan Encarnacion Pitcher 1 Jeff Weaver Pitcher 2 Russ Ortiz
  15. Thanks, Cal. That had been my impression based on seeing a few game-stats this spring, that he was K'ing like crazy, even while facing some not-always-great nonconference teams. K'ing over 20% of AB, that's not a great sign. Interesting that his K rate has actually gotten worse each year. Overall it seems fairly high for a college hitter but not horrible. Not a perfect hitter, obviusly. In 129 plate appearances he's struck out 20 times, or 15.5% of the time. That's not too bad, and with 100+ plate appearances, he could get on a 3 or 4 game streak of no strike outs and then he's back to "having a great eye at the plate!"
  16. I'm really not sure how that's relevant (again, I'm not calling Prior soft :D) How could it not be relevant? Leaf was thought to be good enough to hang in the NFL, but he wasnt. That was proven the moment he stepped on the field. Mark dominated AA, AAA and MLB before the injuries started. Maybe he never throws another effective major league inning, but I don't think it has anything to do with him being soft.
  17. Sorry, I just got back from a game. DE Gaines Adams - Clemson I seriously debated taking AD and putting him in the backfield with Edge, a situation I think he could do well in, but in the end, I went with the DE. In reality, if Thomas is off the board at No. 5, I expect AZ will take Adams.
  18. be still my beating heart
