  1. What kind of idiot would file for free agency and then not let his agent take control? I know Sheffield did it, but I would guess that somewhere around almost 99.9% of all baseball players would get their asses handed to them in a negotiating room. What a stupid thing to chastise a player for.
  2. Wuertz for Time Magazine Man of the Year
  3. CHICAGO (AP) - 59 year old Craig Biggio moved one hit closer to 3,000 with a double to leftfield during the top of the fifth inning off of Chicago Cub starter Ted Lilly. The 75-year old Biggio had this to say after the game. "Having just celebrated my 87th birthday, this was a nice gift."
  4. My problem with this phrase is that my immediate reaction is that you're referring to Jeff Kent rather than Kent Mercker. Say ten hail Dunn's and you will be cured of this problem.
  5. Never heard that one. It's pretty good I always preferred "Hey up, i had sex with your wife/girlfriend/daughter".
  6. have faith my friend. lee and ramirez are going BACK2BACK i actually made an in jest comment to my editor that we should change our style from back-to-back to BACK2BACK, but he said no. Weird.
  7. Soriano's OPS is like .030 points higher than Juan's at this point last season. I'm not saying, im just saying.
  8. CHICAGO (AP) - The DeRosa bandwagon crashed today during the second inning of the Chicago Cubs game versus one of their chief National League Central rivals, the Houston Astros. In the second inning, DeRosa - who quickly grew to fan favorite status after a hot start - grounded into a double-play off of Astros pitcher Woody Williams. This came a day after the second baseman went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in a loss to Milwaukee.
  9. Reyes and Chase. Sorry.
  10. It's five games. If he goes 0-4 tomorrow, he'll be hitting .250/.288. True. But he'll probably settle somewhere around .275/.335 that my prediction for Izturis this year. That's an ISOD of 60, which he has never had before. What makes you think he'll do any of what you just said?
  11. I'm guessing that this is a joke thread due to Fox's hot night tonight. But for real, if we trade Barrett, who catches? Are we ready for 130 games of Henry Blanco?
  12. It's five games. If he goes 0-4 tomorrow, he'll be hitting .250/.288.
  13. Argentinian soccer players, but it applies to Ginobili. Batistuta
  14. A win is a win. Today's game means just as much in the standings as a game on Sept 25th. games in september count double now
  15. What's worse to you...putting this sarcastic remark in or having someone actually rip on Kerry Wood for his well deserved lambasting for his constant health problems? Just curious Well deserved? Some people just get hurt.
  16. He's apparently totally on his game, judging by his ST and this game. Let him throw 70 pitches and lets keep that arm fresh. I like the move.
  17. We should play "Guess the game score" I'll go with 87
