    I'm not a big Sammy fan or anything, but I hope he's still in the lineup in June when I go see the Cubs play the Rangers.

    Doesn't it seem like Pie adjusts and picks up new things really easily? (outside of stealing bases, anyway) I try not to get my hopes up, but I can see six cheap years of him in the outfield and I get pretty excited.

    Okay, so you look at K/9 and K/BB and HR's allowed. Awesome. Hits, walks, and runs allowed are kinda sorta important too. They're important looking backwards, but after three games they are in no way important as a predictive stat. Nobody's trying to predict the rest of the season. They are just saying-who has pitched better so far-Z in his 3 starts, or Marquis in his 2? Well in that case obviously Marquis has had more success, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's pitched better. It would be easy to say that he has, but with such a small sample and so many of the different variables that go into pitching, I'd have to look at the stats way deeper and after just a combined 5 starts, it wouldnt be worth it.

    Booing is stupid. Yeah, it's frustrating when the Cubs play like they have been recently, but what does booing do? Are you really so limited that you can't figure out another way to vent your frustration other than to sound like a white-trash parent at a high school basketball game?

    The Arizona Cardinals select Kenny Irons, RB - Auburn Edge is old and needs to be in a platoon. Irons is really talented, and getting him in the third round is a steal.

    FWIW, he was significantly better each of his first two years. 2005: .366/.470/.581/1.051 2006: .355/.480/.606/1.086 He's now up to .336/.467/.588/1.055 He also now has 31BB/21K. I think he was at 20/20 at one point, so he's starting to get hot. Callis said we'd take Wieters in a chat he did today. be still my beating heart

    Sizemore is amazing, but there are a bunch of young players that have stepped up in the AL this year. Young, Upton and Kinsler are the truth.

    What kind of idiot would file for free agency and then not let his agent take control? I know Sheffield did it, but I would guess that somewhere around almost 99.9% of all baseball players would get their asses handed to them in a negotiating room. What a stupid thing to chastise a player for.

    CHICAGO (AP) - 59 year old Craig Biggio moved one hit closer to 3,000 with a double to leftfield during the top of the fifth inning off of Chicago Cub starter Ted Lilly. The 75-year old Biggio had this to say after the game. "Having just celebrated my 87th birthday, this was a nice gift."

    My problem with this phrase is that my immediate reaction is that you're referring to Jeff Kent rather than Kent Mercker. Say ten hail Dunn's and you will be cured of this problem.
