  1. Vance, are we drinking a beer or two (10?) in June?
  2. Are you serious??? Dude, didn't I show you earlier that Cedeno was a much worse SS in the minors than Theriot was? I think all you showed was that Cedeno had a higher e/pg (insert eye roll).
  3. There's more to defense than errors??? Are you serious? Holy crap, I never knew. He brought up the discussion about Theriot's number of errors in such and such amount of games, I'm merely refuting it using the same logic he employed. Don't pee your pants, IMB. I was pointing out what a stupid discussion it was. I don't know why you felt the need to respond to stupid logic with stupid logic of your own. Don't poop your pants, OMC. (because poop is a funnier word)
  4. Good to see Tyler Colvin racing up the charts...
  5. There is so much more that goes into playing defense other than "errors per game" that even having a discussion based on that made up statistic is ridiculous. e/pg? seriously?
  6. Wow. Where did that come from? Where did what come from? I just don't care for Goldstein's interpretation of the whole Prior/Wood dynamic. He's projecting, which I think, sometimes, particular stat-heads are wont to do. It's this whole us vs. them fallacy -- nouveau, enlightened, 21st century baseball paragons vs. old, crusty, chaw-spittin', flat-earth baseball men and the sychophantic sports reporters who suck on their every word. Is this a joke? Did you not just jump into a thread railing against "stat geeks" and their "insecurities"? How can you call it an "us vs. them fallacy" and then divide them into groups and "attack" one?
  7. =D> =D> =D> =D> [/i] You know, I'm not sure which I find more annoying...bufoonish idiots who proclaim that "Mark Prior is a wuss" or condescending stat-geeks who project their own sniveling insecurities onto others. Are you sure the "stat-geeks" are the insecure ones? Ahahahaha.
  8. What an idiot I am!! this is entertaining, please continue.
  9. A lot of that slg% is singles driven because he has a jesus christ like .485 babip. When that goes down, and it surely will, that slugging percentage will plummet unless he starts hitting the ball out of the park again. This is very simple guys, I don't know how you keep getting it wrong. Maybe it will, but the fact is Lee's been productive. And he's going to hit home runs again. This isn't the first April Lee's had where he hasn't been hitting homers. Last year he had 3 HR in just 44 april AB (.614 slg%) in 2005 he had 7 in 2004 he had 2, but was only hitting .233 in 2003 he had 4, but hit just .272 in 2002 he had 5, even though he was hitting just .221 The fact that he's making so much contact and is still not hitting home runs is a little disconcerting. I'm sure it will come back on eventually, but to what extent? This little power outage came after a wrist break, I know that correlation doesnt equal causation, but it still worries me.

  11. When the Cubs get out of the cellar.
  12. Because!...DAMN YOU LASER GUY.
  13. /crickets chirping in Mississippi enlighten me. What does UK/pinghitter do? He's a scout. For one of the best talent-procuring teams in the majors. Bwahahahahaha. That sure did backfire.
  14. God bless Josh Hamilton.
  15. I'm way more confident with Theriot's glove than I am with Izturis' bat.
  16. Haha, the reaction in the dugout was great, and so was Aramis' first swing, he wanted to get one too.
  17. Just giving it a shot
  18. I know that I said some very unkind things this offseason, and may I be the first to wish that Tim never fixes search, so that if you come to this board, you will never see them. May your next 120 starts be this strong. (If they aren't, you're still a waste) Love, IMB!
  19. WHO? Christ, that scared me to death.
  20. no kidding. The only thing that is keeping me from buying a Rich Hill jersey is the fact that the last thing I bought with a Cub's name on it was a Mark Prior shirt. He went down the crapper, and I'm afraid of doing the same thing to Rich. I really wish I could go back and forget 2002 all together. Remember when they used to have the "Prior Watch" or whatever it was, during WGN games? On Prior's day to pitch, they would always keep track of how he was doing and pass it down. This was before NSBB, so it was really how I kept up with Mark. The team was bad that year, but it was so exciting seeing how incredible he was doing.
