Of course they all start out in the low minors. Everyone does. That's not even the point of what the scouts said. What do you think I just pulled this out of my ass? Jesus. This is absurd, and I'm tired of defending it. Yet I bet you keep doing it. What was the point of what the scouts said, then? Was there a point to any of this or was it just more "I played baseball in college" stuff?

Whatever makes you feel better. SEC baseball is in no way equivalent to AA. Good SEC players may have the ability to one day make it to AA, but to say that it's in any way equivalent is ridiculous. You do realize that most college first rounders start out in the low minors, right? As far as the "I know one very well" portion of the conversation, I think there's something going on that you aren't privy to.

What's wrong with Hill? His ERA has doubled today, is something wrong? (Shoulder/elbow maybe?) Should I have started a new topic for this? I mean, it's doubled to 1.00 today, next time, what? 2.00? Then what? 4.00? 8.00? Where do we draw the line?

It's the baseball version of the gambler's fallacy. The Cubs have been unlucky in one run games so far, but a reversal of those fortunes aren't going to turn them into a good team.

I just don't like his attitude. im pretty sure we can ignore someone's attittude if the team wins. whats more important, attitude or winning? the world's not disney world. You would really want to cheer for a team full of Bondses? I think you'd change your mind pretty quick about that. I wouldn't have enjoyed the Colts Superbowl win nearly as much if you replaced guys like Dungy and Harrison with Belichick and Terrell Owens. Not every player has to be my favorite person in the world but Bonds would be too much to ask for, I just couldn't cheer for a guy like that. I know, I got really tired of all those Patriot fans complaining about how their championships were tainted by the presence of Belicheck. -
Seriously, and maybe now he realizes that he actually does suck, he'll come out of the pen like a good little boy.

But most teams, not even the Cubs, can afford 25 men with the salary of Bonds. I thought you were talking about his attitude? Right I did. You were the one you brought up winning. All I said was I don't like his attitude. This has been an odd exchange. Anything to do with Bonds in HERE is an odd exchange. Your train of thought is simply fascinating. -

Lou wants 12 pitchers-that would still leave him with 11. I do like the idea of bringing up Cherrry now and releasing Miller. Then you bring up a starter next week (likely Guzman) and either demote Pie or trade Jones. Jones is the best hitting OF ATM. He is not my favorite player on the Cubs but the Cubs shouldn't be rushing to get rid of him, without being sure that Pie is going to stick. Pie is hitting half a mendoza right now, he probably wont stick.

DLee had better hit a home run soon, he's not going to keep hitting at this level unless his power comes back. No steam coming out of my ears; I'm as strong willed as you... Back on point, I'm not worried about DLee's power because he's hitting for average and getting on base at a high rate. without home runs his SLG will have a tough time maintaining. his BABIP is like .460! when his BABIP comes down and he's not hitting for power, he's going to be very bad. he needs to start hitting for power. This is what I was trying to say, I just didnt want to go to THT. He leads the NL and is behind only Mauer and Upton in the entire league. There's no way he keeps it up all season. EDIT For comparison's sake, during 2005, his BABIP was only .349.

You're not a moderator. I actually finished second in the public vote for moderator back in 2001, and I'm assistant regional moderator at the moment, so move on. I haven't done anything to prompt moving on. A moderator wouldn't be calling someone out for posting "7000" times. You're the one who started an argument here. I come to this site because I like it, it makes no sense to discourage posting. I can't believe I'm still going on about this. You were attempting a serious argument on a topic where one wasn't needed. Much like I'm doing here, apparently. I'm just saying, there's no reason to argue with someone who thinks that two crappy players will hit a home run before Lee. It's like arguing with someone who says "Dude, Where's My Car" is his favorite movie. Who cares? Again, move on, this is stupid. (I'm only posting so I can keep up with your post count.)

Was the guy trying to "prove" anything? Not everything someone says on this website needs detailed analysis. Move on. Are you directing traffic on this message board? You're the one looking for an argument. If someone makes a point I have every right to disagree and if you don't like it you don't have to read it. You really want to keep talking about this? You hit triple digits today in posts, a new personal best! You can disagree with someone's post all you want, but it only makes you look stupid if you pick a dumb one to argue. It's not like the guy is making some deep philosophical post on the state of the Cubs front office or something, he said he thinks two crappy players will hit home runs before Lee does, it was just hyperbole and it's definitely not worth your consternation. But then again, you didn't get to 7,000 posts in 2 weeks by not posting.
