  1. A lot of that slg% is singles driven because he has a jesus christ like .485 babip. When that goes down, and it surely will, that slugging percentage will plummet unless he starts hitting the ball out of the park again. This is very simple guys, I don't know how you keep getting it wrong. Maybe it will, but the fact is Lee's been productive. And he's going to hit home runs again. This isn't the first April Lee's had where he hasn't been hitting homers. Last year he had 3 HR in just 44 april AB (.614 slg%) in 2005 he had 7 in 2004 he had 2, but was only hitting .233 in 2003 he had 4, but hit just .272 in 2002 he had 5, even though he was hitting just .221 The fact that he's making so much contact and is still not hitting home runs is a little disconcerting. I'm sure it will come back on eventually, but to what extent? This little power outage came after a wrist break, I know that correlation doesnt equal causation, but it still worries me.

  3. When the Cubs get out of the cellar.
  4. Because!...DAMN YOU LASER GUY.
  5. /crickets chirping in Mississippi enlighten me. What does UK/pinghitter do? He's a scout. For one of the best talent-procuring teams in the majors. Bwahahahahaha. That sure did backfire.
  6. God bless Josh Hamilton.
  7. I'm way more confident with Theriot's glove than I am with Izturis' bat.
  8. Haha, the reaction in the dugout was great, and so was Aramis' first swing, he wanted to get one too.
  9. Just giving it a shot
  10. I know that I said some very unkind things this offseason, and may I be the first to wish that Tim never fixes search, so that if you come to this board, you will never see them. May your next 120 starts be this strong. (If they aren't, you're still a waste) Love, IMB!
  11. WHO? Christ, that scared me to death.
  12. no kidding. The only thing that is keeping me from buying a Rich Hill jersey is the fact that the last thing I bought with a Cub's name on it was a Mark Prior shirt. He went down the crapper, and I'm afraid of doing the same thing to Rich. I really wish I could go back and forget 2002 all together. Remember when they used to have the "Prior Watch" or whatever it was, during WGN games? On Prior's day to pitch, they would always keep track of how he was doing and pass it down. This was before NSBB, so it was really how I kept up with Mark. The team was bad that year, but it was so exciting seeing how incredible he was doing.
  13. Of course they all start out in the low minors. Everyone does. That's not even the point of what the scouts said. What do you think I just pulled this out of my ass? Jesus. This is absurd, and I'm tired of defending it. Yet I bet you keep doing it. What was the point of what the scouts said, then? Was there a point to any of this or was it just more "I played baseball in college" stuff?
  14. I'm with you, and they do play baseball the right way. I dream of a day when we play ball like that. Is this a joke?
  15. Whatever makes you feel better. SEC baseball is in no way equivalent to AA. Good SEC players may have the ability to one day make it to AA, but to say that it's in any way equivalent is ridiculous. You do realize that most college first rounders start out in the low minors, right? As far as the "I know one very well" portion of the conversation, I think there's something going on that you aren't privy to.
  16. as is your use of the word "[expletive]" did tim enable search just for you so that you could find the word "[expletive]" and come and scold whoever uses it? Dont be [expletive], search is still broken.
  17. if you call IBL and it doesnt get locked, you should get banned. we should make it a challenge.
  18. OH NOES ITLL BE 576.767,188 BY THE END OF THE YEAR~! BENCH HIM BEFORE ITS TOO LATE AAAA Hill just gave up another home run, send him to iowa to get the kinks worked out
  19. What's wrong with Hill? His ERA has doubled today, is something wrong? (Shoulder/elbow maybe?) Should I have started a new topic for this? I mean, it's doubled to 1.00 today, next time, what? 2.00? Then what? 4.00? 8.00? Where do we draw the line?
  20. It's the baseball version of the gambler's fallacy. The Cubs have been unlucky in one run games so far, but a reversal of those fortunes aren't going to turn them into a good team.
  21. why, do you not like winning? He doesnt like cheating. Cheating or not. I just don't like his attitude. im pretty sure we can ignore someone's attittude if the team wins. whats more important, attitude or winning? the world's not disney world. You would really want to cheer for a team full of Bondses? I think you'd change your mind pretty quick about that. I wouldn't have enjoyed the Colts Superbowl win nearly as much if you replaced guys like Dungy and Harrison with Belichick and Terrell Owens. Not every player has to be my favorite person in the world but Bonds would be too much to ask for, I just couldn't cheer for a guy like that. I know, I got really tired of all those Patriot fans complaining about how their championships were tainted by the presence of Belicheck.
