We don't HAVE an office in Joliet. You might be referring to the Joliet Herald, a paper not affiliated with the the Daily Herald, whose offices are neat and clean (from what little I see of them). I don't know; it was the Herald on Caterpillar. If it's not affilitated with the paper you guys are talking about, nevermind; but at the time I was writing stories for them, they were in dire need of staff replacement. I really don't care if the office of a newspaper is a mess or not, I've worked with enough to know to expect it. I was working with about four or five people, and one of them was very good all the way around, but others had trouble with grammar and spelling, finding things and getting stories in by deadline. When somebody writes a story and all you have to do is edit it, the result should never be that you tried to edit it, made incorrect changes and subsequently lost it. That happened to me TWICE. After that happened, I dedided to use their access a couple times for stories I wanted to do and then I cut ties. It was too much of a headache for me. I did get to go to Bulls media day, a Green Day concert and interview Kris Honel of the White Sox (whatever happened to that guy) before I left, haha. I guess I got payed back for the crap I put up with in the end.
