  1. I'm concerned about facing Arroyo. He looked great in his last start in AZ.

If that's the case, Noah and Roy, plz. Even though I hate Noah right now. There's almost no way the Bulls have the opportunity to take two guys from that list.

I really like his dunking ability, plus, imagine him and Chandler on defense.

We have to take Thomas. The Bulls never have a play making big guy.
  5. I have absolutely no doubts about the Bulls getting a playoff spot now.
  6. What a huge comeback win.
  7. I'm sticking by the Pierre trade and am glad to see Mitre helping us putting us ahead of the Stros in the standings.

    Bonds

Drugs have always been in baseball, espcecially when they could help performance. Tim Raines snortted coke so much that he had viles in his back pants pockets while he played and always slid head first to avoid breaking them. Nobody wants to take his steals away, so leave the records alone across the board and let each fan percieve players and thier accomplishments as they like. If Bonds or Pujols or somebody start failing tests, ban them from baseball and delete all of their records, but unitl then, leave it alone.
  9. that's not the point of this conversation at all. The point is that on a large scale, home runs are better, like with a club that hits over 300 of them. My argument was that, and I'm just using these numbers as an example: a team with 175 home runs and speed is better than a 225 home run team with little speed/baserunning ability.
  10. Tim, the speed team can reasonably be assembled. Your team cannot be. In the reality of building a baseball team, the power option you have to choose is Burnitz, Alou etc.
  11. Power and speed might score more than just power, or it might not. Speed doesn't guarantee more scoring. OBP guarantees more scoring. That is where the Cubs have been lacking. And you don't have to have great speed to get great OBP, but it's still nice to have. I'm saying that even if the power lineup scores more runs, and I concede that they probably will, the team with speed will still win more games. You can say that all you want, but it's no more true than saying the team with bigger smiles on their faces will win more games. The team with speed will have their runs spread out more whereas the power team will be on and off.

  13. I'm saying that an offense with power and speed wins more games than an offense just with exceptional power, even though the one with exceptional power will likely score more runs.
  14. same thing happened last year on opening day, and people were saying the same thing. yeah, it'd be great if the cubs could single their way to 17 hits every game, but it ain't gonna happen. Last year more runs were scored via the homerun. That was the point moreso than the 18 hits. I might be mistaken on this, but I think I'm correct when I say that the White Sox scored a higher percentage of their runs off of homers than the Cubs did last year. I think they did pretty well, too. Yes, but you are forgetting about the games they won scoring 3 or 4 runs only because of their speed when they weren't hitting as well.
  15. I think he wanted to get Hairston in the game too so everybody got an AB....and he got a hit in that AB.
  16. Well, if Hendry wants Dusty back, the best thing he could do is wait to see if the team has a great year, then extend him. He could say he was forced to extend him because of the season like Angelo did with Jauron and extend his career with the team at least one more manager.
  17. Well, if you did make a team of the fastest guys at their positions, I think it would be above average as far as runs scored per game; but it would be very consistant and if paired with a good pitching staff, extremely effective. The all speed team: CF Pierre 2B Reyes 1B Lee RF Abreu SS Furcal LF Taveras 3B Freel C Olivo
  18. Unfortunately, I think he will offer him an extension.
  19. Hmmm...I just got a glance as it as I was reading something here, I thought it said they signed him, sorry if I misread.

    Bonds

I agree 100% that fans shouldn't throw things on the field, but I won't shed a tear if Bonds gets nailed in the dome with a beer bottle, battery or anything else this year.
  21. Whatever Texas gave Oakland to get Koronka couldn't have been worth much.
  22. five-year $60-million....That's why I figured 5 years, 65 mil. would be good for Lee.
