  1. I just did. But I do not know how much longer I want to stay up
  2. I really don't like the idea either, but we need a ruling by the commish ASAP. One problem that I have with holding the draft this early is that I haven't seen to top 50 prospect lists yet. That is what I usually use to decide which , if any, prospects to draft.
  3. Just found out about this. I would have preferred to keep prospects in the draft. It is one of the reasons that I picked up the extra draft picks at the end of last year. It seems to me that two separate drafts will lead to confusion. All that being said, it appears that this is a done deal and this is just a game, so let the seasson begin.
  4. IWith your luck, Beltran will remain healthy for the full year
  5. How many rounds in the draft this year?
  6. Oops  Should have read this thread before I sent that e-mail. My list C Jackson - 442.8 A Dunn - 515 J Mauer - 473.5 C Zambrano - 442 M Reynolds - exempt H Kendrick - exempt J Votto - exempt N Blackburn - exempt K Slowey - exempt J Jurrjens - exempt Minors Jesus Montero Elvis Andrus Carlos Triunfel Fernando Martinez Cameron Maybin Andrew McCutcheon Geraldo Parra Brandon Wood Phil Coke James Simmons
  7. I tried to drop Adam Lind so that my roster would be legal, but the site will not allow me to do so. I thought we had until Valentine's day?????
  8. I'm flexible. Just remember the time difference if we are drafting on a weekday.
  9. Juan - When do we have to set our line-ups and when is our draft day? The dusting of snow says otherwise, but..... The crocuses are coming up, so that means fantasy baseball is about to start :yahoo:
  10. Welocome back! BTW - Which team are you taking? I am now the Tampa bay Rays previously known as the Draconian Empire Yeah, I just received my '09 contract today. I like the name. I assume this means that you are still scouting for the Rays. If so anyone who is attracting interest of scouts in the Portland area? You'll have to go S. to Corvallis and Eugene for the elite players. Oregon State has the best kids with Jorge Reyes (RHP) and Ryan Ortiz (C/OF). Lane Comm. College has a decent player which is also in Eugene as Linn-Benton in Albany. As far as HS kids, there isn't much Portland, there's a C at Lake Oswego and there is a college kid by the name of Rocky gale who is a C at Portland. Btw, I spent a week in Portland in Nov. as I might have a job transfer and I loved it out there. Went down the coast from Cannon beach down to Reedsport. Of the communities around Portland, I took a liking to Troutdale just E. of the city as far as being close enough to the city without being in the City, I didn't see much of the stuff S. as far as Lake Oswego. Yea, Portland is great. You get the four seasons, but they are moderated by the ocean. Fall/winter rains, but usually no bitter cold. When it does get hot in the summer, the humidity is low. The forest, mountains, and the coast are nearby. I am not a skier, but I have been told that Mount Hood is great for sking. Portland is still a small town that has grown up. Comfortable atmosphere. If you move to Troutdale beware of the fact that it is near the gorge. So in the winter the winds can be quite strong and there will be a good chance of ice storms each winter. Of course if you like windsurfing, the gorge is ideal. No major league baseball team though. :( We do have AAA. And of course Boise swings through the area during the summer.
  11. Welcome to Roadkill BTW - If you haven't figured it out yet, beware of trade offers from NSBB or Raisin :glare:

  14. My check is in the mail. Thanks again for doing this for us  And I would like to be the first to trash talk in 2009 and say that this will be the year for the Fighting Quakers!
  15. Thanks for the replies. Can I push my luck and ask for a similar analysis of the other positions
  16. I didn't see this posted anywhere. From BA; http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/?p=1835 How do the posters on this site think the Cub's catching prospects stack up? With Soto doing well it may seem that this would be of little concern, but catchers have a habit of burning out quickly. Maybe we should make a list of prospects at each position? Which ones show promise. Which ones could provide trade bait? Which positions are really weak. Etc... It is the off season after all.
  17. Juan, I assume you renewed Roadkill. Do you want us to send you a check, or should we just donate some money to NSBB as we did last year?
  18. Could one of you post a picture of the trophy on this site, or at the Roadkill site???
  19. Ken Griffey is available.
  20. So who won???? The board has been so quiet this week. Juan, by when do we have to make our cuts?
  21. The season is over. Talk to me. As of now it looks like these will be my keepers Non-exempt Mauer - 473.5 Zambrano - 442 Dunn - 515 Jackson - 442.8 or Mussina - 499 Exempt keepers Jurrjens Slowey Lind Votto Kendrick Reynolds Minors Coke Guerra Simmons Martinez Triunfel Montero Andrus Para McCutchen Maybin Wood These players will proably have to go (note a few are exempt) Jackson or Mussina Scutaro Griffey Tejada Blackburn - exempt Clay Buchholtz - exempt Kuo - exempt T. Buchholtz Davis
  22. Kind of sucks that I could not watch the game on WGN. But I find that it is difficult to feel upset. Might have something to do ith the fact that the magic number is....someone else say it please so that know that it is true.
  23. We need some new blood in the championship round. Go Toots! Go Alamo! :clapping:
  24. I am down 136 to 18. I may have to invoke the mercy rule. What is the lowest point total from a team this season?
  25. I would say that Hill would have to be placed on your Major League roster.
