    Week 9

Now I know why Blackburn came out. Abreu hit a line drive that hit him in the face. Ouch...
  2. Quakers

    Week 8

Good week for the Quakers. After two weeks of everything going wrong, this week most things went right. Contreras was a nice pick-up. If he keeps pitching the way he has it could be a CWS vs CHC world series. :)

    Week 8

Aybar is on the DL. So I picked up Sanchez to replace him.

    Week 7

Well, I am glad that the Cubs are doing well, but my quakers...what a week. :blackeye:

    Week 7

    I really need some help:)

    Week 7

    I would agree.

    Week 6

Coulda, shoulda, woulda. If I had started Bannister (today) and Jackson instead of McGowan (yesterday) and Santana (today) I'd have about 90 more points and an easy win. One of the reasons I like the new rules. There is more managing involved in who you are going to start during the week.

    Week 6

Last year I had Buchholz in the minors when he threw his no hitter :?

baseball is not real life. What

    Week 6

Let's go Alamo!!!!!! :clapping: BTW - I want to officially apologize to the members of Roadkill. In the heat of a tight battle with the fearsome fuzzies, I actually placed my support for my Quakers above my support for the Cubbies and rooted for Isringhausen to get a save. I should know that what happenes in real life (ie MLB) is much more important than a fantasy game. Will you ever forgive me
  11. A close one for the Quakers. I think that this is one of the better teams that I have had over the years. Now if Dunn's and Beltran's bats come to life, watch out. :D
  12. Hu and or Aybar may be available. They will not be of interest to anyone who wants to compete now, but they are worth a look to anyone who is rebuilding.
  13. Yes...Beckett is out pitching Shields. I just wish I had rememebered to activate Perez. If I had this week would be in the bag. As it stands, I should go into Sunday with the lead, but....
  14. i don't think you can do this unless one of your scheduled starters misses a start due to injury. Oops....you are probably right...I think I am flashing back to the old rules New rules say that you can adjust your starters, but they must all must be on your team at the start of the week. (Bench or minors). Except for injury of course.
  15. I will have a problem getting to 7 starts this week unless I pick up a FA.
  16. It is your job to watch out for these things as neither Brian nor I has time to check every matchup. oh, i wasn't saying it was your job. asking you guys to do that would be asking a lot considering your salary. the manager of the team who did it should be responsible for counting his own starts. While I am not proud of it, I did slip up once last year. So it happens.
  17. As of right now, it looks like I wil miss being the high score of the week by 0.25 points.
  18. My impression is that Donaldson did not like being placed on BA's not-so-hot list.
  19. Can't argue with that right now, sorry Felix. sure, you can - go look at some aprils by neifi. Just ride him while he is hot, once he cools off Pie goes back full time. That would be my thoughts exactly. That and that Johson is better than his career average would indicate. I think the Cubs finally got a player whose best is yet to come. Usually they seem to be able to over pay for someone who has passed their prime. Nice catch by Johnson in center :D It is nice to see Theriot hit too.
  20. A nice week for the Quakers. If they keep getting pitching like they have, the Quakers should make the play-offs. If things keep going as well as they have, I think I could make a case for the all exempt team 1B - Votto 2b - Kendrick ss - Hu/Aybar 3b - Reynolds OF - Maybin OF - McCutchen OF - Lind DH - Wood SP - Buchholz SP - Blackburn SP - Jurrjens SP - Slowey Throw in Mauer at catcher, Zambrano and Beckett as starters.... Of course the future always looks bright when you are winning \:D/ For what it is worth, I think Reed Johnson is going to prove to be a fantastic pick-up by the Cubs.
  21. Don't worry. Your team is fine. They are just tasting the famous Quaker defense for the first time :)
  22. Injuries messing up a good week. Westbrooke is the latest.

    Week 3

True. I was not first in line at season's start, but I never made a claim until Derosa. I am not at the bottom of the list now ecause all the people behind me have picked up a FA on waivers since then. I am glad that I have Derosa to cover second while Kendrick is on the DL, but I will kick myself if an A+ prospect becomes available.

    Week 3

I'm crafty like that. I have noticed that a lot of players have been picked up through waivers already, so I would have guessed that I'd be somewhere close to the top of the list. I also thought that the first waiver order was based on either the draft order or reverse draft order. If everyone is 0-0 with zero points to start the season, how can you set a waiver order based on standings/points? If you set the waiver order based on last season, I'm guessing it would either be in draft order or reverse draft order. IMO - First week waiver order should be based on the previous season standings - so same as draft order. Subsequent weeks should be based upon reverse standings / points. The idea is that the teams struggling the most should get first crack at the players coming through waivers. Nothing else makes sense to me. Are you saying waiver order resets every week? I am not certainhow Juan set it up, but I was first on the waiver wire last week, picked up Derosa, and now I am no longer first.
