  1. Why would anyone want this to be Silva's last start? Wouldn't it be better if he was just, you know, good? Oh, and editing his post was really anal.
  2. Yea, my hatred for the Cardinals doesn't blind me from things. In that picture above, there's definitely (a lot of) some muddy substance UNDER the bill of his cap. Also, hasn't he been accused of this before by the Yankees?
  3. I wouldn't be caught dead in that.
  4. I have a hard time accepting this. It has nothing to do with him being a superstar, and everything to do with guns. I just don't understand how he got off with no jail time after bringing four unregistered fire arms into a public arena, and then lying and joking about it. Whatever.
  5. Really getting excited about the 2010 tyler colvin
  6. I agree. As far as his albatross contract is concerned, the blame goes no farther than the desk of Jim Hendry. But while that applies not blaming the Tribune or whatever, it also applies to not blaming Soriano for his own contract.
  7. I love Sori as a person. I just didn't love him as an athlete last year. There's a difference. I've never thought of Soriano as a player that gives less than 100%. I think last year really got to him emotionally, to be honest. It was pretty obvious he was disappointed in himself, and tried to rush himself back (unsuccessfully) pretty much the entire second half.
  8. I have a sickening feeling we'll be talking about Milton all the way through the season. Just when it starts to die down, we'll head to Seattle for that series, and Milton will kill a bird in LF or something.
  9. On a side note they look eerily similar, even for siblings. The entire McGwire family is odd. And FWIW, I'd be furious if someone spanked my kid, regardless of reasoning, also regardless of if they're family or not. That's just not cool. In fact it's freaking weird.
  10. So everyone missed him giving up a grand slam and 3R HR in the same inning the other day eh? Sample size, context, I know I know.
  11. I dunno, Marlon's got some guns, I wouldn't mess with him or he might give you a black guy. http://cdn1.sbnation.com/entry_photo_images/288119/159012_cubs_spring_baseball.jpg
  12. He'll be average to above average, which is cool. I think what's more important honestly is that he's consistent, and stays healthy. The rotation is obviously pretty volatile right now, and being a solid back end starter will immensely help this team.
  13. Chicago Cubs left-fielder Alfonso Soriano reported to spring training on Monday and said his left knee, which was surgically repaired in September, has not fully recovered. "I don't feel 100 percent because I'm not running 100 percent," Soriano said on Monday. "I'm just running 75 to 80 percent, and I don't feel nothing that hurts. When I start running 100 percent I want to know how it feels." http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=4936522 Nady + - on 400 AB's this year? And can someone enlighten me on the exact type of procedure he had done, and the typical recovery time compared to Soriano?
  14. Me too. And everyone I know.
  15. Theriot was a 12M player last year on a 500K salary. For this year he's projected to be a 10M player. Just saying.
  16. http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=4861096 The Chicago Cubs will announce on Wednesday that they have signed former Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Chad Tracy to a minor-league contract, according to a major-league source.
  17. Not that I wouldn't like Sheets or anything, but 10M is too much.
  18. Everyone has a right to their opinion about steroids. But writing a blatantly attacking "open letter" like this? That's some self righteous BS imo. It always seems that in the storm of steroids that the accusers never realize they've made plenty of mistakes themselves, maybe not in the baseball realm, but still, plenty of mistakes. Only part I agree with is that I can't understand how McGwire will make, say, Colby Rasmus a better hitter. But whatever.
  19. I'm not sure I necessarily like it, but I also agree with just about everything XZero said in the last two posts. It's just the objective truth.
  20. I hate the astros.
  21. lol, same here. before I read that he made that last one up I about had a coronary.
  22. 7 down at the start of the month!
