    So with the Twins winning earlier, anyone watching the Tigers/Sox game? It's the top of the second, and the Tigers are already on their third pitcher. Definitely some interesting managing going on by Leyland. This should be good. 2-0 Sox currently, Garcia pitching. Figaro, Ni, in and out for the Tigers...Galarraga in now to pitch. The game is on CSN Chicago.

MYP: pujols CY: wainwright ROY: happ MOY: tracy btw, this is why I'm fairly sure the cardinals will make the WS, if not win it. they have the mvp and cy young. top players (cliche warning) usually step up in october. AL... MVP: m cabrera CY: greinke ROY: bailey MOY: girardi none of the al winners are especially great this year, eh?

    I honestly don't think a respected manager like Scoscia or Gardenhire or whoever could of turned that team around. And I'm intentionally trying to name coaches that do a good job with limited resources. That team was just an abomination to baseball.

    He seemed defeated at press conferences. Every question was given the answer "What do you want me to do?" with this faux outrage. The last two years he was very candid and humble, qualities I really enjoyed about him. Not so much this year. Am I seeing things?

    This isnt a case of, oh man, we shouldnt of let that guy go, who knew he'd be so good, bla bla. We all said at the time it was stupid. And it was. I dooooo draw the line at bringing up Aardsma though. That's reaching.

    It's not Old Thyme that Lou gets plastered on and sleeps to 1:30 at the office with....it's Old Style. In all seriousness though, and I'm not arguing for the sake of it, but he really did mail it in this year. After Gregg exploded in Florida, the man just had nothing left.

    wow, I agree with truffle especially about brenly. have you guys ever gone back and watched that world series? I mean he literally almost lost it through bad managing...how many freaking times did he put BH kim out there to get lit up like a christmas tree, for example? and also that article is a bunch of BS. piniella mailed it in for this year in late july. he looked comatose in august, and Im not even sure if that was actually lou or a body double slumped in the dugout through september.

    I don't think its a meaningless statement at all. Just because they're not running around cursing like a sailor doesn't mean they haven't picked up on a few of Ozzie's likes/dislikes. I continually get flamed for saying this, but I do it anyway. Clubhouse chemistry is important. Yea winning (obviously) helps, but players trust in their manager is incalculable, and extremely important to a winning franchise imo. I really respect your opinions, so...question....how much do you think Tracy has to do with Colorado's turnaround?

    ugh. they deserve it. good mix of home grown players, veterans, and acquired players. cardinals have a very good chance at winning it all this year imo. they have the best player in baseball in pujols, as well as the best #1-2 starters.
