Thats part of the problem too. Right now he doesn't even have a top 25 recruiting class. What he has done on offense right now works, but he is still not pulling any big names. On defense he is struggling too, and a couple of his 13 commits right now are wavering including his top recruit Demetruis Hart at RB. The best player from the state is going to Tennessee, so the recruiting efforts need to improve all the way around.

I really wonder what happened with all of the Washington talks for him to settle with 1 year with the Cubs. Still I will take it as it all looks like they are just bridging over to the 2012 season.

carlos pena kind of sucks, but he's obviously the guy here. if we don't get him, i'm starting a thread advocating jack cust. it's pretty sad. If the alternative is Laroche, then Pena is the guy. I hoping we land Webb though.

why? no one would go. they'd be the Clippers x10 You're not giving Chicago fans any credit. People support the [expletive] Chicago Wolves. They'd support a second NBA team. They support the Wolves because they built a reputation of succeeding while offering a dirt cheap product. Chicago is a football first, baseball second and basketball only because of Jordan city. They aren't going to pay NBA prices to see a non-Bulls team. Exactly, its a different product that doesn't compete directly with the Blackhawks. The entire city would hate whatever 2nd NBA team came in against the Bulls. Hell DFW has two minor league hockey teams that both do well enough. Its cheap fun entertainment for more than half the cost and much less traffic than the real thing.

Boo freaking hoo. I can't feel sympathy for anyone who plays for the Yankees because they always seem to be paid more than they are worth. Actually, when was the last time the Yanks signed anyone to a reasonable contract? He should have gone and found another contract on the open market.

The AD claimed he was planning on accepting it. He's making 1.25 right now, curious as to how much the raise would be. The question is whether there's any sort of non-compete clause in that contract. I kind of doubt it. The Michigan situation is going to play out beginning in early January. There probably isn't a reason for Harbaugh to sign anything before his bowl game, which is 2 days after Michigan plays. Both sides should have a pretty good idea of what is going to transpire by the end of that 1st week in January. And if he really likes the West Coast the 49'ers job could be opening up too come January to your point on waiting.

If new evidence were to surface in the Newton scandal causing AU to receive any type of sanctions, I imagine Gus would definitely jump ship. Even if new evidence doesn't surface, Gus could potentially still make the jump to Texas...Chizik and Muschamp certainly did. I think he'll probably accept a head coaching job this offseason though...would Miami make him an offer maybe..? I don't think he'd accept the Vanderbilt job. And will he accept an offer prior to the game? Will other schools wait that long too?

Greg Davis finally stepped down yesterday as the OC for Texas. UT wants Gus Malzahn but that probably won't happen unless he can't find the HC job he wants and we double his pay which is possible. Bryan Harsin of Boise St. appears to be the next guy on the wish list.

I liked Cashman's comments, he can give $15million a year to .270/.340/.370 but he is worried about giving closer money to Wood who had an era of .69 and WHIP of 1.23 as the setup man.

I just need Brady to not score more than 31 points tonight. Lost last week by less than a point cause Crabtree and Davis could not get ONE reception in the 2nd half on Monday night, its going to suck to lose again tonight.

And if Donovon goes back to Everton that would make for a fun derby for us to watch. Roy really does love Clint. Chelsea's next 4 league games, @ Tottenham, v ManU, @ Arsenal, v Bolton. I hope they don't figure things out any time soon.

At first I found it annoying, but then decided it's nice to have the option of watching a game just about every night for nearly a month. I'm still stuck in the belief that New Year's Day and after bowl games should be something special. The GoDaddy.com Bowl with Miami (OH) vs Middle Tennessee should be played on Dec 15th instead of January 6th.

Is Loney even any better than a Colvin experiment at 1st? Now if they wanted to trade Either that would be a different story. -
I really don't like these non BCS bowls being played after the 1st for whatever reason.

If you're referring to Boise State, they at least had gone undefeated and earned an at large BCS bowl bid to play OU. They had made some noise before winning that game, though there's no question, that was a big game for the program. They came into that game ranked ahead of OU, too. Many football fans seem to forget this. Its more so the way they won that game more than anything. Everyone already forgot about Utah beating Alabama a couple of years ago.

Hopefully he gets a shot at the very least. It would be nice if Wenger would sign Friedel in January, its not going to cost him much of anything but it still won't happen.
