  1. The Rays do an incredible job with there resources, and one of the best scouting and development departments around too. When their payroll craters I am afraid they will return to fourth place in the AL East. Hopefully the new stadium has the same results it did in Minnesota.
  2. I'm pretty sure that his eventual death will be Kyle's fault for creating that thread in the Rants category.

  4. He's come a long way since his freshman year at Michigan. He used to just fire rockets straight into the ground, 5 yards short of his intended receiver. He was the Jacque Jones of college football when he started out. He's a player that needs to go to the right team, which of course you can say for every player but it really applies to him.
  5. Copenhagen is the best case, no? Don't the group winners get drawn against the second place finishers across the board? Copenhagen finished second to Barcelona. On another note, Tottenham is sitting in a good spot, winning the group and can't draw Inter or Arsenal in the round of 16. Yeah, it's not until the quarterfinal draw that there aren't any rules about which teams can be drawn against each other. For the Round of 16, it has to be a first against a second with no rematches from the first round or matchups between two teams from the same country. If Arsenal were to beat one now would be the time to do it as they are playing pretty well. If they play Barca they still need 6 of their starters to come down with he flu or something. Barca will still try to kidnap Cesc while they are playing too.
  6. tough break for your 5th favorite team I thought they declared his 2010 season over in 2008?
  7. I'm actually having a tough time understanding this sentence. But I've thought all along this team could compete in the NL Central, namely because it is the NL Central. I think they can compete, but yeah its because its the Central.
  8. Not really soccer related, but thought I would throw this in here due to the person and just how much money he actually has.
  9. I really don't see why that would be breaking some sort of rule. If they are paying him under the table to delay the process then yes it would be.
  10. I wouldn't take that rumor for anything. But the amount of backlash on here would be huge if thats true.
  11. so with the win on Monday the NE Pats are god's gift to the NFL. I love the Browns, but come on they aren't the cream of the NFL and they beat the Pats like a narc at a bikers rally. What did they do to stomp this fiercesome Pats team? The Browns defense has been solid all year, and this was when McCoy was starting and had them playing very well. I'm also sure the Pats were caught sleeping too.
  12. Geez. I hope for the mom's sake she had a c-section. And for the dad's sake too!
  13. I agree that it doesn't make sense to do so. But I also don't like the idea of including three "top" prospects for the likes of Matt Garza. For me, it really comes down to which prospects are being discussed. It sounds like Chirinos is included, which is fine. Like a few others have mentioned, I'm hoping that they might consider Lake a top shortstop prospect. I'd also prefer to deal Jay Jackson than McNutt or Archer in a deal like this, although it sounds like Archer is off limits anyway (thankfully). Why are people so in love with Wells? Is it just for cheap decent production? I would not give up Jackson, McNutt, or Archer for Garza. With the direction this team is headed there is no reason to trade any of them.
  14. That would be a shocker, not that I think it would ever happen.
  15. Well this was the best team they have had in Abilene in over a decade.
  16. Copenhagen is the best case, no? They also finished as a runner up so can't play them. Here's a good write up. Losing in the next round might help them towards staying in contention for the league or FA Cup. http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=1574979.html#last+december+draw
  17. Had not seen this anywhere, this was posted after the Pena signing. I would just keep Gorz before that.
  18. I think the asking price is going to be too high. If the Rangers lose Lee, I think they will make the move for Grienke. Texas would be a nice place for him too.
  19. Is Bob Stoops ready to make the move to Florida?
  20. I'll believe this in September when Meyer is not coaching Florida in the opener. Sounds like he was back in the hospital the week of the Georgia game. If thats true then I think he is gone for a year or so to get things worked out.
  21. So has Florida State has officially regained power in Florida?
  22. Garza won 15 games last year. Awesome. Which made him tied for the 10th best pitcher in the AL. I do like Garza though as long as we don't have to give up a ton for him. None of the top 3 prospects or Cashner.
  23. So Pete Sampras had almost all of his tennis trophies stolen from storage. Luckily he still has 13 of his 14 majors he said, but that would really suck. I don't get having them in storage to begin with. Hopefully he will get them recovered.
