  1. Heilman would be a longman/spot starter for the Cubs
  2. How about the Cubs send Walker to the Mets for Heilman?
  3. Who wouldn't be ?? Pagan AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS 04/03 - 06/24 19 2 5 1 0 0 6 1 0 4 0.263 0.263 0.316 0.579 Those are some solid numbers
  4. i'm not even going to bother posting pagan's numbers, but let's just say that if the cubs miss his production, they're worse off than we thought. it must be nice to have built-in, ready excuses for your inevitable failure. when is this guy going to realize that NO team gets to play the entire season w/ a full roster...ridiculous. and now that bynum and womack (who have contributed nothing to this team) are hurt, he's still got the "horses" excuse in his back pocket. he must love it. I miss Pagan also. I am confused by your reply. I'm a fan of Angel Pagan

  7. From looking at the title of this thread I thought it was going to relate with Alanis Morissette.
  8. "The Orioles are the front-running team vying for the services of free-agent right-hander Russ Ortiz, his agent, John Boggs, told the Baltimore Sun." Ortiz is the right handed version of Rusch
  9. I like the idea of Adam Kennedy at 2b. Plays great defense, has good range, hits for average, can still a base and he gets on base. Sounds like a good 2 hitter
  10. Anger Management. Pretty pathetic that a guy would hit a girl.
  11. Don't you think Weaver is better? I like Lackey more than Weaver. Lackey did pick up the win in game 7 of the World Series as a rookie. He is a big game pitcher and he is still pretty young at the age of 27.
  12. If the Cubs would trade Ramirez to the Angels they better be getting John Lackey in return
  13. Schmidt did spend time on the DL last year with a rotator cuff injury.
  14. Not Wood. Please do not include Wood in the plans for next year. And this is not just directed at you srbin, but everybody, that includes you, Jim Hendry. I'm not necessarily saying to not resign Wood, just don't include him in the plans for next year. We've depended on his health for far too long and it's time to stop. He should be done with the Cubs, but that another thread altogether. I agree, but every time I look at that free agent starting pitcher list, I can't come up with many ideas on how to fill our rotation. I'd love to see at least one guy (Marmol, Guzman) earn a spot for next year so we only have to sign one guy (Zito, Schmidt) since there are only two premium pitchers available. Wade Miller probably will be in the Cubs plans next year.
  15. Kaplan numerous times on WGN radio stated "Zito is one guy Jim really likes" Just from that quote I beleive Jim would probably be in the bidding war for Zito. That being said its going to be up to Zito where he wants to go.
  16. Its harder to find a Ace lefty than it is a Ace righty. If you have a chance to sign Zito you do it.
  17. Not to mention Zito pitched over 200 innings in every single year he has pitched except for his rookie year in 2000
  18. Schmidt's missed like 5 starts in 5 years. Zito missed like 1 start in 5 years
  19. Zito will go out and make his 35 starts a year and pitch 220 innings a year. I would take Zito over Schimdt in a heart beat.
  20. My core is: Steve Rain, Andrew Lorraine and Micah Bowie
  21. Completely false. Your completely false. It's "you're", and no, the towel drill isn't all that common at all. There's a reason it's so well known that Prior does it. You need to relax. I have been to numerous pitching camps here are some you might want to know. Don Cooper pitching camp in Lisle, Jim Hickey pitching camp in Tinley Park. Why am I bringing these camps up well for one thing both Hickey and Cooper taught us the "Towel drill". The first thing I learned when I was at these camps was the towel drill. We would be put into groups with 'Major League scouts" showing us the towel drill and how it is a excelent way to keep your mechanics in line and to help get more extension in your throws. So from just major legue scouts teaching us the towel drill I have to figure most major league/Minor league pitchers use the towell drill.
  22. Completely false. Your completely false.
  23. I love the idea of signing Zito. Although I think it will cost more than 45 million. Zito will probably get 11-13 million a year.
