  1. Can you send me this deal? I am very interested in taking advantage of this. Thanks. Sent you a PM. For anyone else, the link is: http://blues.nhl.com/tickets/holiday_packs.htm
  2. Yeah I lost by 2.58 points. My league didn't give me credit for the "fumble recovery" on the muffed punt. Nor do we get points for blocked kicks. I didn't even know that until just now when I went to look it up. Oh well. I still won $250 for finishing second.
  3. I'm still 4 points down at the 2:00 warning. I need a miracle. A Jennings TD or a Bears D TD seem like my only options at this point. I'd prefer the latter. :D
  4. You're safe. I don't know how your league is set up, but 33 points in mine is 150 yards and 3 TDs. And that assumes Jennings gets zip. Won't happen. But you bring up an interesting point, one that comes up in fantasy all the time. I want Jennings to have a good game and have the Bears win. With Forte and the Bears D helping. I win $700 if I win tonight. That's a lot of scratch. I don't want it to come down to the Bears losing though. Yeah, I really try not to pick players from the NFC North for just that reason. I only stand to win $160 though, if it was $700 it would be much harder to avoid cheering for opposing players! :D edit: oh, and I ended up with Jennings because he slipped in my draft and I couldn't pass on him. I hear you. I abandoned those types of loyalties long ago after several years of consistently crappy teams. And Jennings has been pretty good this year. And because of the size of the pot, I'll definitely be rooting for him to catch some balls. Maybe 150 yards and no TDs. :-"
  5. Hopefully Kane's stickwork to the face of opponents who dare to check him was an isolated incident, or you may well be complaining...
  6. With MNF vs. Green Bay upon us, I'm reminded of Halloween Night 1994, when GB absolutely murdered the Bears at Soldier Field. I was 15 and so excited to go to that game. It rained like hell all night. They retired Butkus' and Sayers' number at halftime and the place was mostly empty due to the rain and the drubbing on the field. Final score, I still remember, was 33-6. What I didn't remember and just had to look up was that Favre finished that game 6-15 for 82 yards. Of course, 223 rushing yards didn't hurt.
  7. I think it was Favre's domination over the Bears when I was growing up that makes me hate him and the Packers so much. The Vikings were just sort of there, a common enemy of the Packers. Also, I grew up within sight of the Wisconsin border. There were so many Packer fans up there, so that sort of fueled the rivalry for me too. I'm not in awe of their tradition because we have tradition of our own.
  8. Why? I'd rather see the Packers make it than the Vikings if the Bears were out of it. I hate them both, but I respect the Packers a little. Nah, I agree with UMF on this one. Though I don't think it's the opinion of a majority of Packer fans that the Vikes are a bigger rival than the Bears. I think it's true in the western part of the state, but I think in the corridor from south of Green Bay to the stateline, the Bears are thought of as a bigger rival.
  9. are you kidding??? when i go to flyers games the tickets are usually at least $76 apiece. i would kill for a deal like that. I know. It's insane. I'd have understood if these were the worst seats in the house for Tuesday night games. But they aren't. The upper level seats are between the blue lines, rows 3-7. And three are Saturdays and the other is Monday night against the Rangers. I'm sort of kicking myself now because I'd already bought tickets to the February 13 Hawks game here. I could have waited and gotten them much cheaper.

  11. Just like the 3-12 Cardinals had nothing to play for a few years back when they beat the Vikings to knock them out of the playoffs? That's completely different though. That team was playing the spoiler role, so they had that to play for. That is motivation. The Giants have no motivaiton whatsoever. They'll be resting guys and basically just going through the motions and trying to avoid injuries. I'd probably rather have them play a crappy team than play a good team that has already clinched everything they can. I wouldn't count on Coughlin mailing it in. They played NE tough last year in the last game when they really had nothing to play for, and it helped start their momentum toward the Super Bowl. Jacobs probably doesn't play because he's hurt, but I would be Eli starts and plays the whole game, as does most of their starting offense and defense. This is exactly what I was going to post. Last year they had the playoffs locked up and still went balls to the wall to try to beat the Pats. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see them play their regulars most, if not all, of the game. Agreed, especially since that approach was validated last year by his team playing so well in the playoffs.
  12. I'm not really sure what to make of this. I got an e-mail from the Blues today offering two tickets to four games (8 total) for $76. That includes all fees. Could pick any remaining games, and for one of the games the tix would be upgraded to lower level. Oh, and a free puck autographed by Oshie. I did it. That's too much hockey for too little money. And I got lower level Hawks tickets for January 17 for nearly nothing. And I get to see the Flyers, Rangers and Wings to boot. I say I'm not really sure what to make of it because I thought the Blues were doing better than this. I think they are anticipating interest dropping off big time after the new year as the team is really going in the tank. I hope they continue to draw decent, and I like that they are lowering ticket prices to get people into the building. But season-ticket holders are left holding the bag. The STH price for the tickets I just got is $22/game. I just got them for $9.50 each. Wow.
  13. 100% agreed. I hadn't seen the video until just now. What kind of pansy punches people with his gloves on. I like that Crosby has a physical element to his game. Someday I hope Toews and Kane do the same. But that's just ridiculous. He needs to get his ass whipped by someone. I really dont care that much that the league isnt reviewing it. It just bothers me that when Pittsburgh plays Atlanta again, anyone on Atlanta who looks at Crosby is probably going to get a game misconduct. The NHL has always had a police it yourself mentality, except there is no way that they are going to allow Eric Boulton to kick the crap out of Crosby. So Crosby will basically get away with it. I agree the league won't do anything. If I was in charge, that would be a one-game suspension.
  14. I would say I'd take the rest, but I don't think this team needs it at this point. They are too young. Even the old guys, like Sopel, are getting games off to rest due to the surplus on the blue line.

  16. Steve Smith didn't run wild last night. I can't believe it. He had 58 yards on the first drive and I think only got 10 more the rest of the game. Which means I live! Forte, Jennings and Bears D need 33.48 points for the title! In my league their combined average weekly score is 39.73. So just average guys. Don't need you to go crazy. :D
  17. Sorry man. I am down 26 points. His only remaining player is Steve Smith tonight. Then I have Forte, Jennings and Bears D tomorrow night. If I only needed 26 points, I'd feel pretty good. But if Smith puts up 15 or 20, it gets to be tough sledding. I got pretty lucky that none of his guys really went off. They were all solid, but nothing great. I got subpar days from Schaub, A-Pete, Lance Moore (ugh) and Bironas. If not for Gates I'd already be toast.
  18. LOL at the Vikings. But they're still in the game.
  19. I hate fantasy football. :) I'm playing against Romo. That clown does nothing for 3 1/2 quarters, and then Baltimore has to keep scoring and giving him a chance to fling the ball around and he ends up with a pretty good night. Terrible.
  20. Oh my. That interference call on Michell was tough. But again, credit goes to Eager for keeping his legs moving and making it look worse than it probably was.
  21. What a hell of a job by Ben Eager! He looked like Sid the Kid controlling the puck behind the net there. Ladd is having an excellent game too. And kudos to Havlat for backchecking.
  22. I really hate that automatic delay-of-game penalty for shooting the puck into the seats from the defensive zone. There are situations where it's done to get right out of trouble. That wasn't the case just there. But there's no discretion.
  23. Great period. I hope the back-to-back doesn't catch up with them in the 3rd.
  24. TERRIBLE officiating.... this is just gross. No, he cross-checked the hell out of that guy. They did miss Sanford throwing his stick though.
