  1. I turned in for the night after the second. I think I mentioned around their second goal last night how this team can "score at will." Wow. Wiz is stepping right in, making Sopel absolutely useless and giving the Hawks a surplus on the back line. Should help come deadline time. I can't believe how excited I am for this team. Can't wait until Friday night, when they silence another rink full of Canadians!
  2. Great shot by Fraser! They are running around a bit in the defensive zone, not nearly as bad as the other night, but what we know for sure is that this team can light the lamp at will.
  3. They're all on TV this year.
  4. They said that was Kane's 18th on TSN. EDIT: Nevermind, I misheard. They just said 14th. My bad.
  5. I wish I could. What an opportunity. Folks just need to note though that they need to have their own skates. No rentals.
  6. Hawks are getting the better chances so far because the Oilers D-men keep jumping up. Nice to have Wiz back.
  7. That Stortini looks like a serial killer.
  8. I was just gonna post that. It's a great look.
  9. TSN is supposed to be showing the game on Directv 777 (CI), but they are still showing the NJ/TOR game. Shootout is just starting. Guess I'll miss the first few minutes here...
  10. I agree. But I'm really leaning toward putting in Edwards instead of Moore. ESPN has Moore projected to score fewer points than Colston and Henderson. At least with Edwards I know he's the guy and will get a lot of looks, especially with both of Cleveland's TEs now out for the year.
  11. Nice job RAW. Here is my championship matchup (my team listed first): Chemical Persuasion (9-4) vs. Gridiron Guru (11-2) QB Cutler vs. Brees WR Marshall vs. Cotchery WR Mason vs. Evans WR Owens vs. Moore RB Slaton vs. Forte RB Grant vs. Portis TE Clark vs. Scheffler K Rackers vs. Hartley D Abraham vs. Ryans D Clements vs. D.Jackson D Taylor vs. S.Cooper DB Dawkins vs. G.Wilson DB Atogwe vs. B.Williams DB Gamble vs. B.Pollard DL Allen vs. Vilma DL Kiwanuka vs. D.Harris Projected Points = 260 vs. 264 Wow that's a deep league. I don't think I could ever wrap my head around something like that. I just looked at the ESPN projections. I should win. Here's the matchup, my team on the left: Schaub vs. Romo (ESPN advantage Schaub) Peterson vs. Stephen Jackson (Peterson) Forte vs. Turner (Forte) Jennings vs. Steve Smith (Jennings) Moore vs. Roddy White (White) Gates vs. Gonzalez (Gonzalez) Bironas vs. Josh Brown (Bironas) Bears D vs. Jets D (Jets D) ESPN has Forte, Jennings and Bironas as #1 at their positions this week. They also have Gonzalez as the top-projected TE. I'm still waiting for that beast of a game from Gates. I really like some of the matchups. Romo gets Baltimore, for one.
  12. I'm looking forward to seeing my family and all next week up there, but I'm not looking forward to the snow. Though things are a bit messy here right now too. I'd be fine with the Hawks getting 3 points on this short trip, get 4 and I'm ecstatic.
  13. DVR? Are the tickets paid for and/or can you get your money back? If I had free work tix for the Rangers or Devils, I'd probably go to the game and DVR the Blackhawks game. I wasn't paying for them. But the lady made my decision for me because she didn't want to go and wanted me to do something else. And I'll be home by 8:30 to catch the Hawks game.
  14. Dilemma time: Hawks on TV or go to Blues game vs. Flames? Really good lower bowl seats.
  15. I'm facing Turner and S-Jax this week. So, sorry, but I hope they suck.
  16. We don't have a very good track record of actually producing All-Star talent. I mean, that becomes All-Star talent as a Cub. That's why I never care about trading prospects for proven guys, assuming it's done smartly. And that's Hendry's problem.
  17. I know I'm jumping the gun a bit, since Week 15 isn't over yet. But I'm dying to get this set up and take the title. QB: Eli or Schaub? I'm leaning Schaub at Oakland. Actually, that almost seems like a no-brainer. Eli gets Carolina in yet another Sunday night game for NYG. RB: Forte or Sammy Morris? We know Forte hosts GB. Morris gets AZ at home. A-Pete gashed Arizona last week though he didn't get in the endzone. Forte might be a little dinged up. WR: Edwards or Lance Moore? Moore disappointed me last week, and a lot of my decision on this will depend on how many looks Edwards gets tonight and what Dorsey looks like. Edwards has Cincy at home, Moore goes to Detroit. Both would seem to be favorable matchups. Defense: I have the Bears now. Defense sucked last week (again), but we get 6 for a return TD, so Manning helped me there. I could pick up Miami (at KC) or Houston (at OAK). Suggestions?
  18. What I love most about last night's game is that the Hawks won while playing what was probably their second or third worst game of the season. They were awful all night in clearing the zone, passing, forecheck, and pretty much every other aspect of the game. But they were able to get lucky at the end of the second and Keith/Havlat put on that awesome display of passing for the second goal, and there's your win. I'll give Huet credit again. He's gotten a lot better lately at both handling the puck and controlling rebounds. This team is rolling. Let's see how they do on the EDM-VAN-CAL trip. It's always been a dream of mine to take this trip with the team and see all three games. Someday...
  19. Eli got me my one point but not much more. Either way, I'm in the finals and putting some nice coin in my pocket, win or lose. Haven't won a league since 2005, so I'm due.
  20. Boos aren't uncommon when the PP is spending most of its time in the defensive zone. Passing is not crisp at all right now. Lots of turnovers in the defensive and neutral zones. About three while I typed this. Wow, Huet stoned Nash!
  21. I love fantasy football. I got nothing from Lance Moore on Thursday (who I started for Edwards) and not much more from anyone else not named A-Pete, but my opponent's team totally crapped the bed. I need 1.18 points from Eli tonight to win and advance to the finals.
  22. It's been a pretty lethargic effort so far. Hopefully they can get the PP going.
  23. Let's keep things in perspective here. The Cubs had the best and deepest team in the NL last year, and their only key loss has been Wood. Back in October the expectation was that the Cubs were headed for a relatively quiet offseason. Re-signing Dempster and adding a RF were expected to be the extent of their impact moves. So let's not start worrying "this offseason is passing the Cubs by" when their plans were modest to begin with, and are halfway completed (Dempster) with the second half seemingly taking shape nicely with Bradley. Yeah, but if you aren't improving, you're dying. I can't say we've improved yet, at all. That's my point. Basically, with this team as constituted presently (and even adding Bradley), they make the playoffs again. But are they equipped to win it all? I don't think so. But, perhaps by the trade deadline the ownership situation will be settled and they can make additions then.
  24. Right. Because the next time it happens, if the other guy is seriously cut up, Kane will get suspended. And then he'll start to get a rep, and so on...
