  1. Caught this today in the Trib: Two things. First, Kane should be smarter than to basically admit to the press that he carved up another dude's face on purpose. And second, that's a bitch move. Obviously, I love Kane. But that's not how you retaliate. Now, I admit, I'm not sure exactly how Kane is supposed to retaliate, given his size and lack of desire to play a physical game. Perhaps he's not supposed to. Perhaps he's supposd to leave that to Eager or Adams. Either way, I don't like this.
  2. I'm late to all this, but it sure does seem like this offseason is passing the Cubs by. Perhaps Hendry has another card to play, but who else is left out there that can really help this team? I mean, guys that we could realistically get? The good thing is that the division rivals aren't really doing anything either.
  3. Which really means they'd be 4th, no? Admittedly over the last several years I haven't paid much attention to playoff seeding. Not much reason to. But I thought the three division winners got the top three spots, regardless of points. Anyway, tonight the Hawks get the Avs, who sit two points behind them. They are without Sakic, and it's Coach Q's return to Denver. I'll try to catch at least the third period of this one.
  4. HAWKS WIN! Great game. Good job Huet.
  5. From what I've seen... it's the latter... I have yet to see a change during "icing". That's my impression too, but on TV they are never showing back up ice so I've never known for sure. Lots of play in the Hawks zone, though that's changed over the last few minutes. Let's net a PPG here and put this one away.
  6. Nasty like Marmol? Okay, I have a rules question. This whole "no change after icing" thing is relatively new and I don't quite get it. While the puck is going down the ice and before it's touched up can the guys scurry off for a change so they don't get stuck? Or does everyone who was on the ice when the puck was shot down have to stay on?
  7. You got a problem with dumb blondes with massive jugs? Besides, you know she was randomly selected to do that contest.
  8. Again, these guys are playing a hell of a game. Obviously the PK has been outstanding. But they are just one Sens goal away from an OTL.
  9. I don't post on HFboards.
  10. Jesus Kaner, 8 PIMs already.
  11. Huet is standing on his head tonight.
  12. Somebody called it. Was that you? Okay, I just realized after I yelled out "HE SCORED!" that I'm not in my living room and the people in the ten rooms around me just heard that. #-o
  13. Benny Cadahia has compromising photos of Lou. I have nothing of substance to add, except that Cadahia was drafted by the Royals in 1980 and never made the majors. http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Benny_Cadahia
  14. I won't mind rooting for Wood on the Indians. At least it's an AL team. :( One that routinely plays against the White Sox. And one that comes to Wrigley Field from June 19-21. I usually find it lame when guys come back here to St. Louis and the fans shower praise on them, i.e. Edmonds and Taguchi. But I think Woody deserves some recognition from the fans when he comes back for his time here. Thing is, if he comes in to try to close a game it would be weird to have the fans cheering him.
  15. Kujay, you know how to watch the games online for free, or you don't want to "steal" the stream? :D I totally forgot about that.
  16. It'll be radio only for me tonight. It would be nice of NHL.com would give online feeds for free to Center Ice subscribers. I'll be on the road tonight. I'm sure there's a way to watch the games online for a price, but I'm not going to do that since I'm already paying for CI. And no, I'm not gonna buy a slingbox.
  17. I rolled my way into the semis, where I get the privilege of facing our regular season winner. I badly want this one. I'll win quite a bit of cash for finishing even second, so obviously a win would guarantee at least that. I picked up Lance Moore and plan to start him on Thursday night over Braylon Edwards. I didn't think I would be asking this until recently, but should I start Matt Schaub at home against TEN or Eli on the road at DAL? I've had Schaub stashed on my bench for awhile now and didn't even realize he was back last week. Of course he went off. Also, I'm sitting on the Bears D now. They still score well, but I agree with the CW that they are gonna get torched this week. The best alternatives on the WW would seem to be GB at JAX or New England at OAK. Thoughts?
  18. Agreed. I love the guy, but assuming we can't have everything, and assuming we get Peavy, I'd rather have the bat than Z.
  19. No, I think you have it right. Versteeg made a mistake. It wasn't the right time to do what he did and he may end up hurting his team.
  20. Honestly, I don't think there is any basis for Turris to get suspended. He may have been running his mouth, but that's all he did until he got a knuckle sandwich. Then it was just a fight. Versteeg clearly escalated it from trash talk to a fight. If that's grounds for a suspension, which I don't think it is, then he might be in trouble. instigators in the last 5 minutes of a game get an automatic 1 game suspension. sometimes it's revoked but this doesn't sound like one of those times. Well, then, in that case #32 will probably be watching from the owner's box on Wednesday night. And again, I can't say I disagree. He instigated a fight by punching Turris in the face. If Turris was serious about dancing, he would have dropped his gloves. As it happened, he didn't drop his gloves until Versteeg was pounding on him.
  21. Exactly. It's not hard to figure out what's going on here. The question for a lot of these HOF'ers when they vote isn't, "does this guy belong in the HOF." It's "this guy wasn't as good as me, and if I let vote him in that lessens my accomplishment." Pure selfishness and ego run wild.
  22. I'm truly disappointed. I've said it before, but I never saw Ronnie play and I'm not a stat guy. So I can't tell you if he actually deserves to be in the HOF. But his spirit and the way he overcame his illness to have such a great career is inspiring, and I'd like to think that counts for something. The real shame will be if he is voted in after he passes. It sounds like that won't happen, but if it did, it just wouldn't be right. He deserves to enjoy this and we all deserve to enjoy it with him.
  23. He can't even try to play it cool. It's so obvious how much this means to him. I wonder if he has been told already.
  24. Okay, it's really Monday now and I can't wait for noon to come.
