  1. Do you want to give me yor ticket? The Cubs are 6-0 when I've gone (completely serious...games in 2003-2006). You bastard  (I'm saying that mostly out of jelousy. Because when I used to go to games, I think they lost most of the time). .
  2. See, Igawa could have been somewhat successful if someone like us Signed him. Where he would be facing crappier teams like we do most of the time. He could be a decent #4 or #5. But put him on the yankees facing all those power AL teams. I didn't think he had the talent to beable to put up even decent #'s against them. But I'm not complaining about not getting him, because Lilly, Marquis, and Hill have worked out pretty darn good for us, so far.
  3. On what grounds? He's not doing anything against the rules, and as long as someone is willing to sign him on his terms he can get away with it. Yeah, you'd have to change the rules "no FA can sign after Feb of that year". But I doubt it, because there are FA that are still floating around besides Clemens who would hate that. Players Union would never allow it. So Clemens gets to be a prima donna all he wants. Whatever, atleast he's not in our division. We won't have to worry about the Astros too much.
  4. "Blanko" and "Guzmen." Lou looked really out of breath. Poor old Lou had to rush out there to party with the team. Took him out of breath.
  5. do you want to win or develop young players? Both Jones and Floyd are performing well. You seriously want to take them out and put Pie and Murton every day? Murton and his every game double-play? And Pie who's lost at teh plate? Do you not see we're on a great winning streak? Or do you prefer losses? And no I dont see we are on a great winning streak. 4 games in a row is decent, but definatly not great. We've won 8 of our last 9. Streak or not. That is a good "stretch". . BTW I didn't read what all was said. I just wanted to respond to that specific thing. .
  6. enough. I'm SORRY I'll try to STOOOOOP. YESSS!! i'm really starting to suspect that you're a fan of hawk harrelson I just know how much it annoys you. Sorry.
  7. enough. I'm SORRY I'll try to STOOOOOP. YESSS!!
  8. You can put SHAVING CREAM on Wards FAAAAAAAAAACE. YESSS!!
  9. You can put it on the BOOOOOOOOOARD!! YESSS!! (I will NOT shut up!)  8-)
  10. Just watch the outfielder. Just watch the outfielder.
  11. Maybe we can get a bunch of runs off of him early and get to the bullpen early... Could be likely. If he's complaining about soreness, I see some runs bunched up, then an early exit. .
  12. Hey we are BEATING TEAMS WE SHOULD. And that's a DEFFINATE improvement from last year. We could kick the butts of the good teams, but laid over for the lousy teams. I have faith we will beable to beat teams like the Mets, Braves, and Brewers. Now we just have to wait and root for our cubbies when they do it!
  13. I like the move. I've been calling for Cedeno to be the move this whole time. With Theroit, Derosa, and Izzy can all play the middle infeild. So for as of now, unless one has an injury, you have enough guys sharing the 2 spots. And now that Theroit has gotten some practice. You now have 2 guys who can play SS. This was the best move as far as getting as many Cubs victories as soon as possible. Because Jones is playing too good to trade him right now. As long as Pie can get about 2-3 starts in CF each week, I am happy. Ease him in while Jones is ripping the ball a new one. You've gotta take advantage of Jones hot streak at the same time trying to see if Pie can improve his #'s. Good call Cubs. For now.
  14. I just realized it says "asses ment" in the topic.
  15. me 2, 3 and 4 Oh HELL no. I've got 3.
  16. How long is that going to last? It's like the new towel joke. until everyone that trashed hill gives me five dollars. Can I atleast get .50 on the $5 for being somewhat of a outspoken defender? I'll give you my address. We'll be RICH!!
  17. Debbie Downer. Negative Nancy. Pessimistic Patsy.

  19. A couple of months? I know a baseball season is kind of long, but come on. I'm still trying to figure out how a baseball team learns to win with each other. So Derrek, you like hitting the ball that way and think I should run around the bases when you hit it. That's cool, we did that differently in Washington, but I'll figure it out. Hey Carlos, I think we need to figure out which days you plan on giving up lots of runs and which days you'll give up just 1 or 2, so we can adjust our offensive strategy accordingly. Maybe he just meant that the team will "gel" after awhile. But I don't think it will take 2 months. :D It has already started. It started the day they came back with 4 runs in one inning to take the lead. "gel"-ling is the same thing, it;s a meaningless baseball term more appropriate in the world of basketball or football, where timing is absolutely of the utmost importance. baseball is not really a team sport. the cubs weren't winning at the beginning of the year because they weren't hitting at the right times, which is no one's fault. Winning breeds more winning. Why? Because players almost start expecting to win. If I want to put my own label on it and call it "gelling" then I will continue to do so.
  20. He gawn.
  21. After a 0-4 start, a comeback, and a great escape? Who with a heart wouldn't be!? :D
  22. And with the brew crew winning over the pirates. We are in 2ND PLACE lone all by ourselves! YAY!! What a week of good baseball can do. only problem is that we're 5 back and milwaukee is looking outstanding... 5 games back in early May is very doable. We still have plenty of games against the Brewers left to play. i know...im just impatient. o well going from 6th to 2nd in about a week makes me very happy! :D Exactly how you should feel. Just think of where we were just moments ago? And 5 games back in May is not only doable. It doesn't even consider MENTIONING this early in the season. Just look at your own win record.
  23. Aram is batting .283 with a .356 OBP, .511 SLG. 5 HR's, and 17 RBI's. He needs "protection", how? And since going back to LF Soriano has already made 2 outfeild assists and he's hot with the bat right now. Don't move him to 2B where he will most likely completely blow, and it could cause him to go on a funk offensively because of it. Soriano should be in LF for the rest of the year. It's between Pie and Jones (or I'd pray for Cedeno). But at this time I'd send Pie down. Because if Jonesy can handle CF pretty well, his bat adds even more potency to this line-up. Jones and Barret are both capable #5 hitters. So is Floyd for that matter. What is it with some people that don't beleive we have a "#5 hitter"? I think of the three I named, they are probably just about at average #'s for "#5 hitters".
  24. I started watching a few days ago. GUILTY!!
