  1. Thanks Bruce. He should seriously consider Theroit in every game. Every single game. However saying that, I don't mind DeRo in the line-up.
  2. fixed for ya. I love both Wood and Prior. But honestly we should just let go, it is prob. over.
  3. I was thinking about that, but then I realized that the last time Miller pitched the Cubs managed to keep the game tied for 14 innings-so I'm still ready to see what the team can do. Besides, Wainwright has been living dangerously as well-his ERA is good, but a WHIP over 1.5 means that the Cubs still have a chance of getting some runs off of him. Don't worry, I'm making the trek to Wrigley tomorrow and the Cubs are 10-0 in my last 10 trips. Mark this one down in the W column. Wow guys...I just made it back and I cannot believe that. Maybe it's becasue I went on a bus this time from u of I instead of the train? That or miller is THAT bad that he cancels out my good luck :? No it's not your fault. I said I was going to blame you but. . The Cubs are actually PHYSICALLY UNABLE to win 2 games in a row. It is impossible in all the realms of reality and causality. Milwaukee series, anyone? Are you hinting that they've done it once already, and I've forgotten?
  4. I'd be nice if the cubs could actually WIN one of these exciting games like today and catapult them off to a nice 9 game winning streak. But the pessimistic side of me says, it's never going to happen. Shocking I said that, eh? I've watched every single Cubs game this year. This is what it has done to me. Now I understand all of the pessimistic attitudes around here. I've only been watching full time, since 2004.
  5. why, do you not like winning? He doesnt like cheating. Cheating or not. I just don't like his attitude. Give me a 25 man roster full of jackasses that are good at baseball. No doubt. But most teams, not even the Cubs, can afford 25 men with the salary of Bonds. I thought you were talking about his attitude? Right I did. You were the one you brought up winning. All I said was I don't like his attitude. This has been an odd exchange. Anything to do with Bonds in HERE is an odd exchange.
  6. why, do you not like winning? He doesnt like cheating. Cheating or not. I just don't like his attitude. im pretty sure we can ignore someone's attittude if the team wins. whats more important, attitude or winning? the world's not disney world. What does Disney World have to do with this? I don't want to get in an arguement about winning with bonds. Because it's stupid. Anyone can second guess and go. OH LOOK! He's doing awesome. Yet it was just as likely that his knee blew out. And still MIGHT blow out. Limiting him to 80 games. So let's stop this hindsight nonsense.

  9. And out of the team he should be. Don't scold me for this. But one of the reasons this team is always in spots like this, is because they don't take initiative and take a chance on a promising young guy. Instead of sticking with Miller, who almost all of us saw as not having it anymore. They should have went with Guzman from the beggining. And now that Miller has proven he cannot keep up with major leaguers, they need to roll the dice with one of our few promising young guys.

  11. why, do you not like winning? What we need is everybody besides Lee and Aram to step it up. Please don't say I don't like winning just because I don't want a distraction like Bonds on our team.
  12. I will pray for you tonite Ronny. We love you and miss you, I don't know how Ron does it traveling with the team to do that radio with all the problems he's had.
  13. Ofcourse, he has a personal selfish goal to accomplish. Don't agree with the idea of going after him. No thanks. Both Lee AND Ramirez are having great #'s to start the season.
  14. Niiiiice. I wouldn't mind starting up the Marmol bandWGN again.

  16. That's how I feel. But I'm not mentally prepared for a loss. That's how lost my cause is. Damn.
  17. Yeah but I think you really need a middle IF for when Ramirez needs to be rested or DRO or ARAM have a mild injury for a few days and can't put someone on the DL to bring someone up.
  18. I love it! Yeah, I like that Lou said he is going with the hot bad. Now he just needs to keep doing that and hopefully it works for him.
  19. Thank god for wikipedia. I can't keep up with you folks! :)
  20. There is a difference though. The guy that does it with the K is going to be able to do it far more consistently. If Z is frequently getting out of 2 on or bases loaded jams by relying on great defense, then yes, he would be conisidered lucky. When Z is on, he's usually not in those kinds of jams though, so that doesn't really matter. I'm happy with the way Marquis is pitching, but he has zero chance of doing what he did today consistently, especially when he faces an offense better than the one the Cardinals boast. Well I think even Marquis fans would admit that. He's not going to have this low of an ERA at the end of the season. But I can see him having a significantly better year this year than last.

Since I have almost no faith in a win tommorow (because of miller), then I will give you all the credit if they win.
  22. If he was lucky (and he probably should have given up a run or two today) then it's the Cardinals hitters fault. It's not like they hit it hard right at people all day-pretty much every time they got runners on, they either struck out or hit a soft ground ball. So Pujols should be more concerned about that than anything Marquis threw. How many good starts in a row does Marquis have to have before we stop saying "lucky"? when he has good starts that don't feature several innings with several runners on base. from the sound of things early, he should have given up a run or two, but the cards offense is dead right now so he was able to escape. So? He escaped those innings. So you are saying he can't keep doing that. You are probably right. But even if he didn't he would have given up a run or two. And that would STILL be a good outing.
  23. Because some people (not everyone) like to go by K/BB or K+HR per nine and ground ball pitchers rely on defense you can't really look at stats to say "this guy is good". So since he gets alot of ground balls (because that's the type of pitcher he is). He has to be "lucky". However, right now. Marquis is pitching like a GOOD ground ball pitcher. And getting the results one would get.
  24. He's gotta be atleast close to the 2nd time around, considering he threw about 8 or 9 dominating performances late last year. .
