Ditto! Didn't Demp pitch 2 innings yesterday - do they bring him out in the 9th if we still have the lead? I expect they'll try to get by on Eyre and Ohman if possible. I hear Ohman is good at coming in and shutting them down, so he'd be good for the 9th. For heavens sake, please NO. If Lou did that NOW. I will hate him forever.
That was a good move by Quade. You need to take the chance there because I don't trust the cubs to beable to come back in the 8th or 9th. Now Pie helps to spark the team!
5, 0, 4, 1, 3, 7 ER in April '06 starts 5, 3, 6, 4 so far this April. In 3 starts and one inning, he's only 2 runs shy of 6 starts in his crappy last April. In other words. His aprils are getting worse. And that's not good.
5, 0, 4, 1, 3, 7 ER in April '06 starts You've cooled me down. Now if Carlos gives up several more runs. Then I'll start to worry about some kind of injury.
Good theory. Nice one Mcdunnough. :? I hope you're kidding He's either injured or way too superstitious. or a slow starter I'd like someone to show me the #'s where he's been THIS bad, in april.
Umm...maybe because you never see a flying piece of pizza hit someone in the face at a baseball game. Not to mention the announcers were dying laughing. I don't understand how someone could not find this funny. Because sometimes laughing at other people like a bunch of Nelson Muntz lemmings isn't as fun as it sounds. I think the guy who threw it is a jerk. I don't see why people like to celebrate such behavior. Did you read the article? What I gather is the jerk who get the pizza on his shoulder was teasing the guy with the pizza. Calling him names saying "your mother". I know I'd throw a pizza at him!
It's obvious Piniella needs to find out what's working and who's contributing, and that we'll have to make some trades. Because we have a logjam. Theroit should play every day. So far he has consistantly proven that he just gets hits and gets on base. However Izzy IS very good defensively at SS. Then you have the whole Pie ordeal. Pie if playing well should be cemented into CF. LF would be easier for Soriano as he's played there before. But the OF we all want to get rid of is Jones. But can Murton and Floyd share RF? That doesn't make RF very good defensively. We certainly have the sticks in the OF. But it's kind of hard to find the right combo. But Lou needs to do so, soon.
Alot a people thought Pie wouldn't be up in the game thread last night unless someone was put on the DL. Nevertheless. I am excited to see Pie, and I'm sure the kid is really excited to get his debut with the cubbies. Who would have thought It'd be early april for just a few breif days.
Yes I do. Because it's a win/lose situation. WELL. OFCOURSE He could give up 10 runs, AND Miller gives up 11. In that case you lose on both accounts. I'm starting him myself.
If Miller goes to the pen, then Guzman would be the 5th starter presumably, so that doesn't really help. The cubs sure would be stronger. Now ofcourse we'd need to bring up an additional guy. But even if you JUST swapped Miller and Guzman. The Cubs would be tons better. Because you'd have Guzman starting and Miller only going a couple of innings at a time. And I'd bet Guzman would give you the better performance at this time. Let's see. Miller DFA, Guzman to the Rotation. Cherry to the bullpen. Ohman to AAA or DFA. Who else we got at AAA? Heck anyone would be better. Bring Mateo or Marmoll. I was specifically saying that the Miller-Guzman switch doesn't really help Ohman's suckitude to start the season. I, of course, completely agree that the Miller-Guzman switch needs to happen, and soon. Ah, I see. You were saying it doesn't help the Ohman situation. I thought you meant it doesn't help period. Haha.
