  1. against Hill? I doubt it. It's hard watching them struggle no doubt. But they WILL get better.
  2. I agree. I think Rich is going to have a better year than Carlos. In that scenerio. Lilly is not a bad #3 at all. Now what to do about #4 and #5, that's the problem.
  3. Rich Hill is our STOPPER. There is no doubt about that.
  4. If any of you who picked up mark are in my fantasy league for begginers I'll take 'im. I haven't given up on him yet. (though I'm sighfully happy I started biggio yesterday).
  5. In other news, that joke is old.
  6. Yeah. I heard about that awhile ago. (pat was ad'ing it in an interview). Let us know how the harry carrey one is. I might get that. I just wish you could get it other than money order. I'm too impatient. Give me direct download pay and I'll do it!
  7. A blind man could have thrown strikes with the zone Woody Williams was getting today. Someone better talk about this. Whether it is the pre-game show, mr. miles, chicago tribune live. But there better be mention of this.
  8. I think the most blatant example was Woody getting the low sinker all game , consistently with a couple of inches off the corner as well. then, to lead of the ill fated eighth (see first inning to Lee/Aram), Howry threw a beauty of a sinker right over the middle with very late break. ball. should have struck out Ensberg. I'm just as p'd about that pitch as the one to Everett. come the next inning, Gabe White throws the exact same pitch as Howry, only a little lower, and suddenly it was a strike again. Williams got a few calls right where the K to Everett should have been as well. same thing happened yesterday. Cotts didn't get pitches Capuano got, Wise and inbred looking guy got pitches Miller didn't. happened in Sheets/Z too, but to a lesser extent. call me crazy if you want, but it's been going on consistenely for years. I think there is a secret orginazation that never wants the cubs to win. That explains it all. The umpire is either part of it or has been brainwashed (among countless other umpires) to make calls unfair to the cubs, and in favor of their opponent.
  9. Fantasy teams take note. You can't drop him and pick someone else when he goes on the DL in real life.
  10. I stopped at about the first sentence. Pretty much sounds like another concieded "make fun of the cubs" piece. You know ones so idiot rival fans can read it and laugh "Ahahaaaa! Yeah he's right! Cubs do suck. Haa haaaaa." Poo poo to that.
  11. Oh lord...That pitch by Howry...two pitches before the HR.... I said a string of words so bad I'm pretty sure I secured my place in hell. Well if that's all it takes, you'll be there with Piniella atleast.
  12. So I'm not the only one who thought the HP umpire's calls were unfair to the cubs. Rammy called strike way outside, forcing him to swing and miss at a ball because it would have been called a strike too. And then a couple of VERY good pitches by lilly and howry that should have been strikes. One or two of those situations were in really TIGHT spots. What was that umpires name? I need to put him on my "hate" list.
  13. Mabye we should put in Murton instead of Soriano right now. LOL.
  14. No you're fine. It's not like you're celebrating it. Early speculation says bone spurs; out 4-6 weeks. Blake Hawksworth will be getting the start tues. What's the reaction over at GWRB? Pretty much this. :(
  15. Yeah but however the cubs did have a rally against him and took him out of the game in the 6th. That's more than you can say the last couple of years. He was scoreless against them. So that's an improvement atleast.
  16. Under too. If still keeps up his "cub killer" ways. I can see him hitting 2 hrs.
  17. I doubt they'll pull him just yet. They'll give him atleast a couple more starts. However Miller struggling could mean Guzman could get his chance. Which might not be a bad thing at all.
  18. 6 IP, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 6 H.
  19. It's five games. If he goes 0-4 tomorrow, he'll be hitting .250/.288. True. But he'll probably settle somewhere around .275/.335 that my prediction for Izturis this year. That's an ISOD of 60, which he has never had before. What makes you think he'll do any of what you just said? I along with a few other people have argued that if you look at his progression in 2005, and 2006 before he got injured he had #'s much better than his "carrer" #'s. Meaning he was improving. And the injury hampered him. I'll stand by that prediction for this year.
  20. It's five games. If he goes 0-4 tomorrow, he'll be hitting .250/.288. True. But he'll probably settle somewhere around .275/.335 that my prediction for Izturis this year.
  21. Yet some people thought Izturis would be worse offensively than Neifi. I'm not sayin he'll be above average for a SS. But I think he's OBP will be in the .340 range and his average at .280 or so. He's already hit alot into deep outfield. But anyway. ::ehem:: Mark Derosa. So, he's good. 8-)
  22. I'd only want to see barret go if he brought in someone with good offense in a spot we need, or a good pitcher or very good prospects. I'd like to hang on to him for now. His offense will help us put some W's on the board.
  23. Speaking of Izturis. I'm glad he's doing well. Some of us ::cough cough:: thought that based on his history some of you ::cough cough:: were giving him an unfair shake.
  24. If we're gonna have appreciation threads. We need a Mark Derosa one. This guy is hitting like a #3 out of the gate. And he's helping to contribute to some nice early wins. Early wins are great, as you can get some nice distance between yourself and your rivals. He plays great D at 2B, has made some stellar plays at 3B too. And is hitting .462 with 2 HR already, and 5 RBI. It's when you have a Mark Derosa hitting 6 or 7 that you have a pretty darn good offense.
