  1. Yes I can. I can assume wrong if they aren't that good. Much like I assume the Cubs have the best offense in the Central. I could be right, I could be wrong. I'm going to have an opinion either way. We'll you're right. But it was more like a statement. would have been an assumption. As it stands it was a statement.
  2. Contingent on Carpenter's elbow being better now and him not suffering an injury, the Cardinals rotation will be far from makeshift. They have the second best rotation in the division contingent on Sheets being healthy. Not until they prove it. You cannot just assume that.
  3. Funny. Arguing why or why not the cubs will add 4, 5, 6 games in the win column like your life depended on it. I suggest you all chill out and enjoy some good Cubs baseball this year. Because there will be plenty of it.
  4. Thanks for that. The websites don't say the probably pitchers like MLB does. And one of those AAA pages said something about getting underway on the 13th. So thier error. I'll keep an eye on the gamethreads. I plan following our farm for the first time. I'll probably even pay to watch AAA since I'm really interested in how Pie does. One thing I'm curious about, on Iowa's roster. Where are all the good pitchers? I only Marmol and Meteo stood out. I thought we were supposed to have a killer pitching staff? I didn't see any of the stand out names on their roster yesterday.
  5. It strikes me that today's game is a wash, that there's not really much we can extrapolate from it. Lou made some bad calls pitching-wise, but I don't think we can realistically expect that to continue, nor should we expect our offense to be so flaccid. Hopefully that roof in Milwaukee is working properly and the Cubs can play some warm-weather baseball. Looking forward to Hill's start. Dude IS a beast. The question is how long until our order begins to contribute? I don't believe this pitching staff is going to be able to hold one run leads. Barrett is .000 and Jones is sub .080. I don't see us being able to hold leads this small. Well. Your answer is, how long do you expect Barrett to be .000?
  6. I think Rich Hill will have a good game too. But our offense is the thing that needs to be picked up. Not the pitching. Both Lilly and Marquis only gave up 1 earned run in 6-7 innings each. .
  7. You're wrong. 8 pitches. overall bad game by the cubs on the basepaths. But good start by Marquis.
  8. You're right about that. Since Yahoo does use Pacific time, you added the player at 9:30 P.M. Thursday, so the player is available on your roster for Friday games. If you add the player after midnight Pacific time on Friday, he isn't available until Saturday (on the flip side, you'd still have the player you dropped available for Friday's games). I noticed that. I also noticed something funny. When I go to "my team" on it's main page it shows what my guys got for that day. Even just a couple hours after the game. However when I go to "matchup" it still shows what they did for 1 day ago. Sometimes it seems to even stretch almost past 24 hours ago. It takes a looooong time for "match up" to update. But it's funny, if they already have the results "computed" in "my team". . Then why can't they just update it into "match up". Weird. .
  9. So AAA starts 4-13. Anyone know when Shark first pitches? I want to listen in to that.
  10. Ahh, those were the day. purposeful?
  11. He wouldn't have given up any runs if he was wearing the blue jersey. You got that right.
  12. It's time like these that make me look like a genius for being a consistant optimistic cubs fan. Thanks for that Lilly! keep proving me right plz.
  13. I want to see a beautiful new stadium that seats 55 thousand people with a huge open parking lot full of trees and brick walkways. In a nice neighborhood which is easy to get to. With bricks and ivy, and that old classic look. It shall be called Wrigley Field.
  14. if aram pulls a groin or a hammy because he's hustling pointlessly and it has a severe negative effect on our season, i'm going to plotz. Nothing wrong with hustling (within reason). But I agree with you I just hope he tries to be careful because we need him. But I sure didn't mind his hustle around 2nd to score the 4th run. aram's value is how he performs in the batter's box, not so much outside of it, as long as he's average to above average in the field. i just don't think that his value goes up much when he's hustling, and the risks that his "hustling" incurs are great. Well I did say within reason. Maybe having a demanding manager like Lou can also bring the best out of Aramis in the batters box also.

  16. So hopefully by 2:00 a.m. central time? I'll be up late so I'll check and post what I find. StatTracker I really don't need. I was just curious when the "official" matchup scores get updated. Thanks!
  17. Hey one last question all (I really hope). . When do the results for the player in the game compute into the "matchup". .
  18. I love Lou. But honestly Dusty DID show some emmotion the first couple of years. And had a real Gem when he threw his hat, threw the line-up card, and threw just about anything close to him while a'shoutin. And after that, He was "embarrassed" doing that infront of his son, and never did it again. while it's entertaining to watch a manager have a meltdown on the field, it doesn't do much for the team. i'd rather lou not have a reason to throw a base or go after the closer physically. but dempster better throw strikes. I don't disagree with you at all. Lou wasn't "physical" at all. But it was an emmotional type strict order. And players can respond to that. People can make of it all they want, but that type of passion for the game and passion for winning can really get the players to perform.
  19. he had FIRE! and INTENSITY! Are you making fun of me?
  20. He didn't really yell. He showed "TUFF LOVE", and that's exactly what our team needs to be honest with you. Nothing better to get this team to stop underperforming than some tuff strict love.

  22. I love the striking difference between him and dusty. Dusty just lets the players play and makes excuses. Lou MAKES the players play and takes and gives blame when it doesn't happen. THAT is what a manager should be!
  23. what did he say. Get some BEEP strikes or something like that? Haha. If so. That's why you gotta love lou. Man.. gotta stick around for the press conferences.. That was amazing. He wasnt throwing strikes. Lou just came out.. yelled, looked pissed. You could see him spitting while he was talking. Pure gold. I'm speechless. hahaha. Yeah I love it! I didn't catch it so I'm gonna have to go see the DVR for a replay.
