  1. That's the second time he's said it tonight! How does this guy have his job? Enough people around him must know he's terrible.
  2. Part of me thinks it'd be better for the Cubs to play the WC game on the road because I worry how Wrigley fans would react when the first thing goes wrong after the failures of 2007/2008. It's a lock the crowd would be terrified; the place was a petrified nightmare in 2008 even before the first loss. Chicago fans across all of the sports have gotten REALLY bad along those lines; what little I saw of the Stanley Cup I was baffled at how quiet the crowd was for long, long stretches. With the Cubs I guess you can kind of justify it from a really dumb meatball standpoint, but the Blackhawks are a good team in their 3rd championship series in, what, 6 years? The fans should have been going bonkers nonstop. When I was at the Bears/Packers NFC Champ game a few years back it was crazy how nervous and quiet all the Bears fans were from the beginning. Watching the NBA Finals I was struck by how jacked up the Golden State fans were. They're facing the best player in the world, their team hasn't been there in 40 years, and they're just losing their minds.
  3. I'd rather trade for a decent starting pitcher and a good bat. JMO, the cheap cost controlled pitcher is way more likely to happen in the offseason than during the season. Gonzalez, Garza, Shields...some of the recent pre-FA starters traded were all offseason moves. For the deadline I want a bat, Hamels, and Chapman. Would take all three...Daniel Murphy of the Mets? I hear he's on the way out this deadline. Yeah, but I want them to play for the postseason this year. There's no reason for them to not gun for a WC spot, and waiting for a starting pitcher isn't going to help that. If I had to pick I'd definitely prefer the bat, but they've got assets up the whazoo. Time to start actually using some of them for trades like they've repeatedly assured us they would do.

  5. Bah. I thought there was maybe going to be some dirtbag redemption for Wood.
  6. You really could just post this at random times throughout the game and each time it would be deserved.
  7. Man, the sad sacks have driven Crack Wilson to sanity. That was unexpected.
  8. Man, I'd much rather leave Roach in than bring in Wood.
  9. Too many streaky hitters, they love to strike out, their bench being terrible.
  10. Sadly, the Cubs flaws will follow them.
  11. Man, this team is real damn dumb sometimes.
  12. Please keep swinging your ridiculously unsustainable hot bat, Baxter.
  13. Roach is pitching alright; too bad it's not 3-0.
  14. Montero's too damn streaky to just be given #4 almost every time he starts.
  15. Coghlan really needs to bat cleanup more than he does.
  16. Dude's just going to strike out a lot. That was practically a given.
  17. Reynolds, Castro couldn't have taken it himself because Russell is in his way. Are you even watching the [expletive] game.
