  1. The lack of self-awareness is delicious Most of the time I'm not trying to drag people down into some self-delusional world of misery. Most of the time.

  3. Scent.
  4. That's probably the best way to put it; people respond to nonsense rantings by meatballs who think he's a baseball cancer and that gets spun as people being "Castro lovers" or in denial or now "downplaying" his faults. How about it's just expecting people to not lose their damn minds every week over an average baseball player? And this hits on the heart of it: this isn't about accurately describing Castro (the guy half a win below replacement being described as "average."). It is about digging heels into the ground against meatballs. Yes, exactly. And ultimately not giving a poop about your semantically nitpicking cries for attention.
  5. Well slap my butt and call me Spanky; Baxter in June: .360 .429 .400 .829 Annnnnnnnnnnnd a .643 BABIP.

  7. I know. I'm saying the chances of Castro being not useful are being downplayed. AKA "[expletive], people are hoping that he continues to improve and I need to stomp all over that [expletive]." Nobody's ignoring 2013 or his bad May.
  8. I'm only mildly surprised he didn't try to point to Jersey's post, too.
  9. Who is saying that it is? The post immediately above that one, in which believing Castro would bounce back in the second half was described as "reasonably obvious." Yeah, it's painfully clear he's talking about how given his numbers this June and his previous track record it's "reasonably obvious" he's going to bounce back from being horrible. For [expletive]'s sake, Kyle.

  11. who are we talking about? http://media.giphy.com/media/QiynwgyRaBdXG/giphy.gif
  12. Great addition to a conversation nobody was having.
  13. Drop: Desmond Add: Valbuena EDIT: Since there's been no confirmation of this move yet, can I switch it to Stanton for Trout?
  14. MLB shortstops: .248/.298/.357/.655 MACKLIN, YOU SON OF A BITCH. so he is slightly above average with the bat... whats the mlb average defense metrics? uh huhh. For the billionth time: NOBODY IS SAYING HE'S HAVING A GOOD YEAR. These discussions get going thanks to histrionics where people start ranting like he's some kind of team-crippling anchor that needs to be dealt with. The Cubs don't have any better options to play instead of him right now, and benching him or sending him down accomplishes nothing except placating meatballs. After a horrendous May he's playing around replacement level, so what exactly is the point of repeatedly bemoaning the existence of Starlin Castro like he's sabotaging the Cubs from within?

  16. Basically he was horrendous in May and this month he's been about replacement level. Nobody thinks he's having a good season overall, but this still seems like an odd time for someone to rant like his season is imploding and killing the Cubs. Of course, this rant is courtesy of the that outrageous buttplug of a Cardinals fan, so whattayagonnado?
  17. Yeah, a .123 increase in OPS isn't much of a difference at all. My favorite part is he won't get benched or sent down and all you can do is sit there and sweat and lick your teeth.
  18. He kinds seems like he hasn't given a [expletive] in a while.
  19. At least they're in striking distance. Just get Starlin to the plate at the end with runners on and there will be victory.
  20. Not the result I was expecting when I see "in play, run(s)" after a Rizzo AB.
  21. How often has Rizzo even just struck out twice in a game? He must be filled with a righteous fury right now.
  22. I give all the credit for that Russell double to tree.
  23. HE'S PITCHED TO SIX WHOLE BATTERS IN THE GAME.
  24. He and the Cubs would be a match made in heaven (that would send all of the other teams to baseball HELL).
  25. The Cubs FO has overseen 3 deadlines where the team was awful. Reading anything into their desires based on their actions those 3 years seems pretty silly. Yeah, no kidding; of course they didn't trade for potential rentals when they were terrible. Teams are only going to do that if they think the short term return can push them over the top. Oh, rowzdownr.
