    And inevitably these kinds of responses get tagged as being from "Castro lovers" or whatever, as opposed to just countering a really ridiculous irrational dislike for a player that often results in people flat out making things up or completely ignoring stuff.

    Except in 2010, when it was .347, 2011 when it was .341, and just last year, when it was .339 (which I'm assuming you won't count because it's an entire point outside of your criteria). I'm pretty sure seasons like this one and 2013 are like porn for the segment of Cubs fandom that inexplicably see him as having been almost nothing but a disappointment.

Between Ramirez and Soriano and a lot of the guys currently pitching seemingly leveling out there doesn't seem much of a need to overpay like that.
