  1. I clicked on "Page 43" of the thread hoping for an update... and I get this. What fresh hell did I stumble into? ETA: Is it safe to go back a page and find out? Or should I just let it go? a chicago sports media personality said the Cubs were in on Harper
  2. I'm more partial to Main Street Pub. Man, I miss the cards and collectibles shop that used to be in Banyan Tree Mall (also: what a ridiculous "mall").
  3. Oh yeah! That's a good callback (though it's goofy to act like that was a no brainer Google search).
  4. I'm completely lost here. I mean, on boobs in general, that's a given, but I have no idea what any of it has to do with Billy Williams. Was there some great Billy Williams boob scandal that I missed out on? And how can this be related to pizza?
  5. Well, he moved to GE in 1980, and was there as late as 2010.
  6. Billy Williams lived for decades in GE....heck, he might still be there.
  7. Isn't that his catchphrase?
  8. ABORT, ABORT: BRYCE HARPER TRIED TO RUIN PIZZA BY EATING PIZZA WITH DAVE PORTNOY. Machado also apparently got into the best shape of his life by CUTTING OUT PIZZA ALTOGETHER. Clearly PTR was doing us a favor by crying poor to avoid these anti-pizza monsters.
  9. Agreed This gif is a rollercoatser of emotions.
  10. If anyone says they'd rather read horsefeathers like that instead of pizza talk or wacky name games, then they're a disgusting masochistic liar. ALL HARPER NEWS IS BAD NEWS.
  11. Not that it's far from Elmhurst at all, but GE is where my mom's side of the family is from (and mostly still are), and it's always weird to me to find someone else from there. I'll be spending Christmas at my grandmother's tiny house right by Glenbard.
  12. Elmhurst Icestorm Ferrets

  14. When the news breaks this weekend of Harper signing with the Cubs, you'll know which cheesy, greasy god to give thanks to.
  15. New HAven pizza??? Check out Piece next time you're in Chicago. Heck yeah. Coalfire is decent NH, too, though a bit too pricey. One of the guys who originally started Coalfire sold his side of the business and ended up running a little cash only NH-style storefront on Armitage called, natch, Armitage Pizzeria. It was right around the corner from me, and was probably the single greatest contributor to all of the weight I had to lose. It was there for a few years, and he finally closed up shot when, of course, his lease was up and his rent was going to get jacked. It's a damn crime that it's not still around.
  16. I like a NY dirty water dog only if I can pretend to be Lennie Briscoe and get to make some pithy comment about violent human tragedy before cramming it into my mouth.
  17. Bottom line, paying for a hot dog that you didn't get from a grocery store or a butcher is madness. It's like paying way too much money for someone to serve you a cup of Kraft mac & cheese. Even when you go to one of those "fancy" hot dog places, it's still just a horsefeathering hot dog. Hot Doug is one of history's greatest charlatans, and it was only worth going there for the specialty fries anyway. COME AT ME, YOU (NOT HOT) DOGS. And intentionally wanting a salty meat sandwich without cheese and with soggy, dissolving bread is madness and a half. The Chicago versions of junk food are like the Bizarro versions of all of those foods. I was more than a little surprised to find that Chicago Chinese food didn't have some horsefeathers like horsefeathering creamed chipped beef infesting it. Bryce, I know I'm not doing a good sell job, but that baller contract will mean you never actually have to eat there.
  18. Tons of good NY and New Haven-style places here. yeah i guess i was just thinking chicago pizza bc we were arguing specifically over chicago food/pizza. There's was an Uno's near me here that, mercifully, finally closed. If another Chicago pizza place tries to show up here, I'm going to be waiting with a mob and torches.
  19. doesn't mojo live in DC? Tons of good NY and New Haven-style places here.
  20. I am just delighted at the idea of Derwood angrily eating in a dingy old Godfather's pizza.
