    horsefeathers, they used those insane things for almost half a century. You could still find a few scattered shoe stores using them in the horsefeathering 70's. They have an exhibit about them at the Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago (an awesomely creepy way to spend an afternoon), and the main problem wasn't that they were x-raying feet, but that the whole box/setup was just blasting x-rays all over the place onto the customer and the salesman.

    There is a chance Lester is in there too. 25 mill option with 10 mill buyout, option vests with 200 IP in '20 or 400 IP in '19 and '20 Rizzo's is technically an option too, but they aren't going to give 37 year old Lester that money. And he's at 180 IP each of the last 2 years so he's not gonna vest either. And the Cubs are probably going to let the beloved (tiny)face of the franchise walk because that's the hell the game is in now.

    One of the most common arguments trotted out against things like raising the minimum wage. "Why should fast food workers make as much/almost as much/more than EMT's?!?" Not that their problem isn't with salaries in general being far too low/stagnant, and that this means that, yes, EMT's should be making money...no, what makes more sense to them is that since Group A has it bad, that means Group B MUST have it worse. THAT'S what makes sense to them, as opposed to, y'know, people being paid better.

    They're doing the doom-boner thing. There's no real point to arguing against it. Or it's an unchanged pitching staff made up of old guys/high injury risks/swingmen/just plain sucks and Kyle Hendricks.

    From a division perspective who’s rotation is really more safe or better? They all have age, health, experience and regression worries. It's a cruddy rotation regardless of who they're playing.
