  1. Man, nothing from last offseason onwards counts as an FU signing. Baseball = bad.
  2. Well, yeah; I'm obviously going to be complaining when they end up getting signed by teams other than the Cubs.
  3. That or Heyward. If you ignore how Heyward has preformed, at the time it was a total “we don’t need this $184m player but horsefeathers it I want him” move. Plus the direct shot at the Cardinals (and how he supposedly took less money than...the Giants were offering, I think?).
  4. Oh, horsefeathers. I think the most baller signing they actually had was horsefeathering Joe. Fuuuuuuuuuuuck.
  5. Guys, it was obviously a good signing. It was also a boring signing. It's the kind of signing a team is SUPPOSED to make when they're in the position the Cubs were at the time. I wanted those AND the FU signings. Now especially is the time for FU signings, and we're not getting that or the Lester signing. Or Yu or Heyward or Darvish or Fowler, or even Donkey Teeth.
  6. dont know why i dont have a job in the cubs FO I still wanna find the insane post where I raged along the lines of, "whatever trash fire the Cubs had at 1B for the next X number of years would be infinitely worse than if they signed Adam Dunn to do the same." Pretty sure I said I could be banned if that came true. WHOOPS.
  7. did mojo ever buy that album??? http://www.northsidebaseball.com/archive/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=63351&p=3155856#p3155854 horsefeathers no. Gross.
  8. Sure, it was the first big step, it was exciting at the time, and it paid off big. But in retrospect I didn't think the baller FA run would be so brutally short and unimpressive. And yes, that's what she said. THAT'S WHAT THEY ALL SAID.
  9. Without the Lester signing, none of the 2015-2018 stuff happens IMO so it's far from a snore. It's the most consequential FA signing in team history I'm not saying he sucked or anything; it's just boring as horsefeathers. I didn't think the peak FA signing was going to be a mumbly, shiny-faced, giant baby man. I wanted the coolness of the Fowler re-signing, except on a stage that made other teams weep and get pissed.
  10. So what will end up being the closest to the baller FA signing we all assumed/wished/hoped would be the SOP for the Cubs under the current regime? Heyward? Probably not, since he took less money. Yu? Eh; last year was the start of this current trend of offseason horse horsefeathers and he got lowballed. I guess it's Lester. SNORE.
  11. Holy horsefeathers. Who called, "Bill James goes on a murderous rampage" as the big offseason news?
  12. And then everyone immediately proceeds to blow Jeff Frye because baseball is bad and doomed.
  13. And yes, I know this is just business as usual for this kind of horsefeathers...the problem is that this is essentially their ONLY kind of business right now, so I hate it.
  14. Stacking no-name relievers is the new stacking middling middle infielders.
  15. [tweet]https://twitter.com/jbellich22/status/1088800967259242496[/tweet]
  16. Yu, you're cool, and this an EXTREMELY generous act of charity.
  17. LET'S LIGHT OUR PITCHFORKS ON FIRE SINCE WE'RE TOO POOR TO AFFORD PITCHFORKS AND TORCHES BECAUSE OF THESE BASTARDS.
  18. Yeah, I'll be genuinely stunned if he doesn't end up on the Phillies or DC with some horsefeathers ass deal the Cubs should be able to afford in their sleep.
  19. Offseason = "pray that the offense bounces back and that we can bullpen the hell out of the shaky starting rotation." CAN'T MISS.
  20. Hey, Brach's is an Illinois company, so maybe this'll be a sweet de-AW, horsefeathers IT.
  21. My guess is he was dazed from witnessing Harden putting up 61(!!!!!!!). Dude is a freak right now.
