  1. And we were able to get him for $305! What a steal! How in the world do you not see the other bills behind that. Could be all $1's, but its more than $305. OK, $315. I'm sure if they were hundreds he would have laid them all out to help him achieve whatever effect he was going for in taking that pic. By all accounts Treadwell is a smart kid with a 3.5 GPA. If he was illegally paid mad stacks of cash I doubt he'd be flaunting it on instagram. More likely is that he was trying to look cool with some cash he had and shortly after either he realized that it could look bad or somebody got to him and told him that it could look bad (because yeah, it does look bad) Treadwell's recruitment is hardly suspicious. His best friend from his hometown is a freshman DB on the team. Treadwell helped his buddy move in last fall and started liking the town and the program and came down for several games and made friends with the players and the coaching stuff, etc. He also became tight with Robert Nkemdiche because of all the camps and all-star games they were at together. Treadwell has been around the program a ton and is close friends with a lot of the guys. It's not some huge surprise that he chose Ole Miss over Oklahoma and Oklahoma St. Come on, it's college sports; do people really assume their favorite program isn't dirty?
  2. Erm... The Fridge wouldn't be worth a nickname if he showed up today.Yes, they're bigger than they were in the 70s and 80s. Yeah, because there's a lot more great big fat guys in the NFL. That's different.
  3. As much as I want it to be true, it looks like pretty shitty Photoshop.
  4. Pretty soon we'll have the best prospects, the best front office, the best field. That's every important facet of the organization, right? LULZ at the crappy nerd jealousy/rage. You stay in the dirt.
  5. Nicely done.
  6. Wait, what? When did I miss the "canning" of the triangle building idea?
  7. Noah is a lovable rascal, you monster.
  8. Nah, I had and have plenty of fun despite not enjoying Harry Caray like you. How kooky weird!
  9. Love it.
  10. I really don't give a [expletive] what he was like as a person; he just sucked at his job for most of the time I was watching him do it.
  11. http://deadspin.com/5979090/someone-actually-gave-adrian-peterson-an-orange-peanut
  12. Jim Tracy's T-Rex arms are also pretty great. And well played, Girardi:
  13. Joe Maddon: great man or greatest man?
  14. one of the all-time worst chip caray calls. "in back-to-back HISTORIC fashion" it was a [expletive] regular season game in april Hahahahahahaah! I thought the exact same thing. It's annoying how many of these clips you gotta watch muted.
  15. Basically any negotiations between the Cubs and the rooftop owners should go something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYJOAW7r03s
  16. I agree, except for the presence of Harry Caray and Steve Stone Yuuuuuuuuuup. Harry was tolerable until the stroke in '87, and even before that you'd only really hear the good announcer side of him for a few innings most games before he had too many drinks. Stone always sucked. Even as a kid I couldn't stand him; he sounded like the evil adult from every shitty kids movie ever made.
  17. This really is the best story ever.
  18. Wrigleyville is the worst. I honestly would have zero problem with a suburban stadium at this point.
  19. HAAAA AND WE'RE BACK IN.
  20. They're going to need to hit on multiple young pitchers, because right now they don't have anyone they can pencil in for a 3+ win season. Very true. Hudson continues to be a reliable front ender, Maholm a quality 4th, but both are short term. Not sure what to make of Medlan. As for the young pitching, they're by no means sure things, but if they all pan out, Teheran, Minor, and Beachy could end up a powerhouse for years to come. Oh, they just need three guys to "pan out?" Sure, no problem; that's a lock.
  21. The Cubs gave up after almost two years of begging and him telling them no. He just reminded them of that with that quote. So what? He can't say no to what they need to get it done on their own.
