They've already clearly set the team up to have Rose, Taj and Noah as their only real long term investments, so I'm not sure why you're talking like they haven't done this. They've already positioned themselves to be buyers then.

That's pretty bold. Actually if all those came true I'd be disappointed with 78 wins. Yea, I was about to say, I don't think anyone has a 1.000+ OPS these days. And when they do, there aren't very many of them. I meant to say .900... But still yes, not many even OPS that anymore. Forgot to carry the 9?

A few. And then the weird cubbievirus one that you already responded to. Most of the talk about Rose recruiting is obviously referring back to when the Bulls were spending and there were big names available at the time and Rose made it pretty clear he thought he didn't have to do that/they didn't really need another star.

I think Reggie is just taking the fall as the bad guy and this is what Derrick really thinks. Which is too bad, if true, because I think this team, if fully healthy, could beat the Heat at least once over the next few years if given the chance. could be, but that doesn't really sound like derrick rose. i think derrick rose is the guy who wants the challenge of being the guy who "single-handedly" wins a title with no superstars around him. didn't he get criticism for not calling lebron and generally choosing to not recruit other star players? Definitely. Not that that dictates how the Bulls are run, but it sure doesn't help when your top player basically flat out says he doesn't think he needs to try and talk anyone into coming (and even kinda openly questioned the need to get another star).

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuup. I remember thinking his family/friends/whatever were too involved when this idea of him sitting out the rest of the year or being further back than predicted was first leaked much further back in the season.

I can't when being "antsy" seems to be based out of a basic lack of understanding of how this works. Reggie Rose clamoring for the Bulls to go get "good players" doesn't mean anything.

Glad to see somebody say something. Granted its hard to find solid upgrades that wont gut your roster, but the Bulls are stagnant and seemingly content with being average. This isn't a championship caliber team. So you explicitly state you recognize why the Bulls didn't make a move, but then agree with someone slamming them for not making such a move in the very same post? The NBA trading deadline is a dumping ground.
